The short answer
Northbeam reports what worked. DataCops sends what worked back to the ads, so they find more of it.
DataCops is a tool that makes the ads learn from real sales: it sends booked, showed, won and paid stages from your CRM back to your ad platforms, gives every visit a bot verdict with a Real people only switch per platform, warms up new campaigns with your existing customers, and logs every send. It is not an attribution report.
How DataCops does it:
- The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
- First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
- Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
- Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
Best for: ad-funded businesses whose sales close in a CRM or on a call: clinics, home services, agencies, B2B and lead gen.
The alternatives at a glance:
- DataCops: best overall. It replaces Northbeam and the rest of the tracking stack. Booked, showed, won and paid go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the click. Free to start.
- Triple Whale: best for Shopify stores that want a dashboard, with a free plan.
- Cometly: best for lead gen teams that want attribution and more ad channels.
- Rockerbox: best for large brands that want many channels and media mix modelling.
- Polar Analytics: best for Shopify brands that want a data warehouse and BI.
Most people look for a Northbeam alternative because of the price.
The bigger question is who the data is for. Every Northbeam alternatives list compares one dashboard to another. None of them ask whether your ads get any smarter from it.
Who learns from your data?
An attribution tool is a report for you. It watches your ads, models which touch deserves credit, and shows the answer on a dashboard. That is useful. Your media buyer reads it and moves budget.
But Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X do not read your dashboard. Their algorithms decide who sees your next ad, and they learn only from the conversions you send them. If they only ever see a form fill, they go find more people who fill in forms.
- You know the lead became a customer. The ad platform does not.
- You know the bot lead was fake. The ad platform counted it and looks for more like it.
- You moved budget last week. The algorithm is still optimising for the wrong people, every hour.
DataCops fixes the other half. It sends the stage (booked, showed, won with its value, paid) back to each ad platform, matched to the original click. The algorithm stops chasing form fillers and starts finding buyers.
Here is the honest part. Northbeam's dashboards are richer than ours. It does multi-touch models, creative analytics and incrementality testing, and it is built for a media team that reads charts every morning. DataCops shows a click log and first-party analytics, and puts its effort into the feed the ad platforms learn from: real people only, consent checked, each sale counted once, sent to eight ad platforms with a delivery log that says why.
So the question is simple. Is your problem that you can't see what works? Pick an attribution tool. Is your problem that the ads keep finding the wrong people? That is a tracking problem, and that is DataCops.
Attribution tells you what worked. DataCops tells the ads, so they find more of it.

The real difference: who the data is for
Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.
The stage goes back to the ads
For a clinic, an agency or a B2B team, the money comes after the form: the booked call, the show-up, the deal marked won. Northbeam can report on revenue. We did not find sending those CRM stages to the ad platforms on its pricing page.
DataCops is built around that moment. Install once on your HighLevel agency and pick the clients. Form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices then go to each client's Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click. Any other CRM posts the sale to a private webhook. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. Read more on offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
Every visit gets a verdict
A bot that fills your form looks like a lead in any dashboard. Worse, if it reaches Meta, Meta goes looking for more visitors like it.
DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and turns it into one switch per ad platform (see click fraud protection). Turn on Real people only for Meta and flagged visits never reach Meta, about 99% of bots when on. It is off by default, so you choose where it applies. We did not find a per-visit bot verdict on Northbeam's pricing page.
Start in minutes, not after a sales call
Northbeam starts with a call and an annual contract. DataCops starts with a free account, one script and one DNS record. Tracking then runs server-side from your own subdomain, and you connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X with one click each, and Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest with an API key.
You can see why each event was sent
DataCops writes every conversion as a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it. The click log in first-party analytics shows what happened to each ad click. It is not a multi-touch model. It is a clear record.
Consent and privacy are built in
DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard, and events wait for consent. Google Consent Mode v2 is on by default, and the server checks consent again before every send. Visitors can ask for deletion through a self-serve form confirmed by email. Deletion requests from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are acted on automatically; Google Ads deletions are a manual step. Click IDs, sessions and the click log are deleted after 90 days. We did not find a consent manager on Northbeam's pricing page.
On the Organization plan, DataCops also blocks known bad traffic at the Cloudflare edge before it loads your page, and exports refund evidence for Google's Click Quality Form from the last 60 days. Google decides on any refund.
Visitors are remembered longer
Safari can cap cookies set by scripts at 7 days. DataCops keeps click IDs for 90 days and sets a first-party visitor cookie from your own subdomain that lasts up to 400 days. In the EU that still needs consent, which the built-in manager checks first.
Northbeam gives your team a better map. DataCops gives the algorithm better directions.
The real cost of a cheap tool
The real cost is in the questions nobody asks before they sign. Answer them with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build Northbeam, the server-side feeds and the CRM link to your ads before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question is the one that matters most. A dashboard can show you that Meta leads rarely close. It cannot tell Meta. Until the platform receives the sale, it keeps buying you the same leads.
A better report does not lower your cost per sale. A better-trained algorithm does.

1. DataCops: best if the ads need to learn who buys
DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
DataCops is not a dashboard. It is the tracking layer: the click is captured on your own domain, bots are kept out per platform, consent is checked, and every stage from lead to paid goes to the ads matched to the click. Your team gets a click log. The algorithm gets the sale.
Why people switch to it
- Booked, showed, won and paid sent to the ads
- Real people only keeps bots out of each platform
- Free to start, no sales call
- Agency board for every client
Worth knowing
- No multi-touch model or creative reports
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
Best for: teams that want the ads to find buyers, not just a report on who bought.

2. Triple Whale: best for Shopify dashboards
Triple Whale is the most common swap for a Shopify brand. It has a free plan, and its paid plans (Foundation, Automate, Enterprise) scale with your store's sales, so a smaller brand pays less than Northbeam's floor.
It is still a dashboard. It helps you read your ads, and it is built around a store, so a business selling on calls gets less from it. See our Triple Whale alternatives.
Why people switch to it
- Free plan
- Price follows store sales
Worth knowing
- Built for Shopify
- A report for your team
Best for: Shopify stores that want a cheaper dashboard.

3. Cometly: best for lead gen with many channels
Cometly is the closest to DataCops in this list. It pairs attribution with sending conversions server-side to Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft, Reddit and Snapchat. CRM sync sits on Enterprise.
Price comes after a sales call, and it has no per-visit bot switch listed. See our Cometly alternatives.
Why people switch to it
- Attribution and sends in one
- Many ad channels
Worth knowing
- No public price
- CRM sync on Enterprise
Best for: teams that want a dashboard and sends from one vendor.

4. Rockerbox: best for large multi-channel brands
Rockerbox is the like-for-like swap for a big brand. It covers many channels in one view, with multi-touch attribution and media mix modelling. It is priced on pageviews by quote, like Northbeam.
It answers the same question Northbeam does, for your team. See our Rockerbox alternatives.
Why people switch to it
- Media mix modelling
- Many channels, online and off
Worth knowing
- Quote only
- Enterprise-sized
Best for: brands that spend big across many channels and need MMM.

5. Polar Analytics: best for Shopify BI
Polar gives a Shopify brand a data warehouse and BI layer, with attribution as part of it. It suits a team that wants to own and query its numbers. Price is by quote, based on yearly sales.
Why people switch to it
- Warehouse and BI included
- Built for Shopify data
Worth knowing
- Quote only
- Reporting, not sends
Best for: brands that want their Shopify data in one place to query.
How to choose a Northbeam alternative
- Ask who needs the answer. If it is your team, pick a dashboard. If it is the ad algorithm, pick a tool that sends conversions.
- Check where your sales close. On a Shopify checkout, most tools work. In a CRM or on a call, you need the stages sent back.
- Look at your traffic. If bots fill your forms, you want them kept out before the ads see them.
- Count your channels. DataCops covers Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
- Price the contract, not the month. An annual deal with a sales call is a different commitment from a free start.
When not to use DataCops
- Northbeam's creative analytics and multi-touch models are its real strength. If your media team picks ads from those charts each morning, keep a reporting view in mind before the contract ends.
- You want an attribution dashboard. Reporting and modelling are what attribution tools are for. DataCops cleans and sends what goes into your ads; it is not a reporting layer.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody buys attribution for the charts. You want five things:
- Capture every lead and sale, tracked server-side from your own subdomain.
- Know which ads bring buyers, not just clicks.
- Get the ads to find more buyers, by sending them the sales, including the ones that close offline.
- Keep bots out, so neither you nor the platforms learn from fake leads.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
Northbeam is strong on number two. DataCops is built for one, three, four and five. Here is the same goal, done both ways.
The traditional way, with Northbeam
- Book a sales call and sign an annual contract.
- Install the Northbeam pixel and connect your ad accounts.
- Wait for the model to learn, then read the dashboards.
- Move budget by hand based on what you see.
- Set up server-side conversions to each ad platform separately.
- Buy and wire a consent banner.
- Find a way to get CRM stages back to the ads.
- Deal with bot leads in each platform yourself.
With DataCops
- Sign up free. Add one script and one DNS record.
- Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X with one click each, and Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest with an API key.
- Switch on the consent manager.
- Switch on Real people only.
- Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.
Then the ads learn by themselves. Every stage reaches Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, and the click log shows you what happened to each click.
Northbeam helps you steer. DataCops fixes what the engine runs on.
Why people leave Northbeam
Northbeam is a serious product. People leave for reasons around it, not in it.
- You cannot try it alone. No free plan and no self-serve plan on its pricing page. A sales call comes first.
- Price grows with traffic. Northbeam prices by pageview volume, on annual contracts.
- It is built for ecommerce. The pricing is framed around DTC ad budgets. A clinic or an agency selling on the phone has a different shape.
- The report is for you, not the ads. Knowing what worked still leaves the algorithm guessing.
Offline conversions: the sale the ads never see
Most businesses do not sell on the website. The website collects the lead. The money comes later, and that later moment is what your ads need to learn from.
| Business | What the pixel sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Clinics, dental, med spa | Booking form | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Home services, roofing, solar | Quote request | Estimate booked, job won with its value |
| Agencies running client ads | Form fills per client | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| B2B and SaaS | Demo request, signup | Qualified lead, trial, paid, by webhook |
| Legal, finance, high-ticket services | Enquiry | Consult booked, client signed |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Each sale is matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone.
- A visitor clicks your ad. DataCops keeps the click ID on your own domain.
- The lead books, shows up or buys in your CRM, days or weeks later.
- DataCops finds the original click by click ID or hashed email and phone.
- The stage goes to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, counted once.

Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays
Northbeam tells you which touchpoints led to revenue. It does not tell the ad platforms who your customers are, so new campaigns learn from scratch. The customers you already have are the best description of who to find.
Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:
- Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
- See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
- Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
- Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.
Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
What else a reporting tool never does
- Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
- Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
- Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
- Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
- Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.
Meta health and wellness restrictions
If you advertise a clinic, a treatment, a supplement or anything health related, Meta may restrict the events it accepts from you. What usually gets an account restricted is the data itself: the page link names the treatment, the event name says what it is, the form sends symptoms.
With Northbeam, this is not its job. It reads your data for reports. Whatever feeds Meta still has to be cleaned by you.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only a short approved list of fields and blocks everything else. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, so Lead becomes L_1.
Read more on Meta health and wellness restrictions.
Setup, step by step, side by side
Here is the same job done both ways. Northbeam steps follow its pricing page and a standard pixel setup. DataCops steps are what you do in the dashboard.
| The job | With Northbeam | |
|---|---|---|
| Get started | Book a sales call, agree an annual contract priced on pageviews. | Sign up free, up to 2,000 sessions. |
| Install tracking | Add the Northbeam pixel and connect ad accounts. | Add one script and one DNS record. Runs server-side from your subdomain. |
| See what worked | Multi-touch attribution dashboards, creative analytics. | Click log in first-party analytics. |
| Tell the ads what worked | Not on its pricing page. Ask Northbeam for your channels. | Connect each platform with one click. Conversions are sent server-side, with a delivery log. |
| Send a CRM sale | Not on its pricing page. | Install once on HighLevel and pick clients, or post the sale to your webhook. |
| Keep bots out | Not on its pricing page. | Switch on Real people only for each platform. |
| Handle consent | Bring your own consent banner. | Switch on the built-in consent manager, built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. |
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald
What to know before you switch
- Northbeam's creative analytics and multi-touch models are its real strength. If your media team picks ads from those charts each morning, keep a reporting view in mind before the contract ends.
- Check your renewal date first. Northbeam bills yearly or every six months, so switch at the end of the term. DataCops is monthly or yearly, starts free, and needs no sales call.
- Setup tip: send every order with its order ID. For a store, the order ID keeps each sale counted once across the browser and the server. Then turn on Real people only for Meta first and watch what gets skipped in the delivery log.
Pick DataCops if
- Your sales close after the form: a booking, a call, a visit, a signed deal.
- You want Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X to learn who actually buys.
- You want to start free, without a sales call or annual contract.
Moving from Northbeam to DataCops
- Add DataCops to your site. One script and one DNS record.
- Connect your ad accounts, and send each conversion from one place only, so nothing counts twice.
- Connect your CRM (HighLevel or your webhook) so booked, showed, won and paid reach the ads.
- Compare for a few weeks in Meta Events Manager and Google Ads: match quality, conversions, and what was skipped as bots.
- Cancel Northbeam at your contract renewal.
Every DataCops product mentioned here
- Offline conversions: CRM sales and stages back to your ads.
- HighLevel conversion tracking and DataCops for agencies.
- Server-side tracking and the no-GTM alternative.
- Meta Conversions API, Google Ads conversion tracking, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn Conversions API.
- Click fraud protection, SignupCops and first-party analytics.

Northbeam alternatives: FAQ
Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?
Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
When should I keep Northbeam instead of switching?
Northbeam's creative analytics and multi-touch models are its real strength. If your media team picks ads from those charts each morning, keep a reporting view in mind before the contract ends.
What is the best Northbeam alternative?
DataCops. It replaces Northbeam and the rest of the tracking stack in one tool: server-side conversions to 8 ad platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X), a bot verdict on every visit, a built-in consent banner, and booked, showed, won and paid sent back to the ads, matched to the click. If all you want is a Shopify dashboard, Triple Whale is the closest swap.
Is there a free Northbeam alternative?
Yes. Triple Whale also has a free plan. Northbeam has no free or self-serve plan on its pricing page.
Is DataCops an attribution dashboard like Northbeam?
No. DataCops does not build multi-touch models, media mix models or creative reports. It is the tracking layer: it captures the click, keeps bots out, and sends the conversion and the later CRM stages to the ad platforms so their algorithms learn who buys. If you want a modelled view of every channel, Northbeam is stronger.
Does Northbeam send conversions back to Meta and Google?
Its pricing page describes attribution and dashboards, not sending conversions back. We did not find it listed there, so ask Northbeam directly for your channels. DataCops sends conversions server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X as its main job.
Does Northbeam work for lead generation?
Northbeam is built for DTC and ecommerce brands. If your revenue comes from booked calls and closed deals, you need the CRM stage matched back to the ad click. DataCops does that natively with HighLevel, and with any other CRM through a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n.
Can I use DataCops and Northbeam together?
You can, but most teams switch. Northbeam tells your team what worked. DataCops tells the ad platforms, so the algorithm learns from real buyers, and gives your team a click log of what happened to each ad click.
Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?
8 ad platforms: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X connect with one-click sign-in. Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest connect with an API key. Microsoft uses its UET Conversions API, which is a Microsoft pilot: ask your Microsoft account manager to turn it on.
Does DataCops filter bots?
Every visit gets a verdict: bot, datacenter, VPN or proxy. Switch on Real people only for a platform and flagged visits are kept out of it, about 99% of bots when on. It is off by default. CRM events carry no bot flag.
