The 5 best Amplitude alternatives in 2026

Amplitude tells you what people did in your product. It does not tell your ads who bought. We compared five Amplitude alternatives on analytics, bots, ad conversions and price.

The short answer

Amplitude explains behaviour. DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.

DataCops is a tool that gives you first-party analytics, a GA4 alternative, on your own domain, with a bot verdict on every session, a consent banner that asks only where the law requires it, and the real conversions sent to your ad platforms.

How DataCops does it:

  • First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
  • Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
  • The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
  • Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.

Best for: businesses that run paid ads and want privacy-respecting analytics plus clean conversion data in one place. If you run no ads, a simple dashboard is enough.

The alternatives at a glance:

  • DataCops: best if your ads are the reason you track. First-party, bot-filtered sessions, and conversions sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
  • Mixpanel: best like-for-like product analytics swap.
  • PostHog: best all-in-one product toolkit for engineers.
  • GA4: best free web analytics, if Google is enough.
  • Plausible: best simple, privacy-first traffic stats.

Most people who search for an Amplitude alternative want one of two things. Either the product analytics bill has grown, or they realise they were using a product tool to answer a marketing question.

If it is the first, Mixpanel and PostHog are fair swaps. If it is the second, no product analytics tool fixes it. This guide is mostly about the second.

Analytics stops at the dashboard

Product analytics counts what arrives. Every visit, every event, whoever or whatever sent it. Then it draws a chart. The chart is where the job ends.

That is fine for product work. It is a problem for ad work, for two reasons.

  • Bots are counted as people. A form filled by a bot is a conversion in the chart. Your funnel looks healthier than your bank account.
  • Your ads never hear about it. Meta and Google Ads learn from what they are sent. A dashboard sends nothing. The ads keep optimising on thin, noisy pixel data.

DataCops starts at the other end. It counts first-party sessions from your own subdomain, puts a bot verdict on each one, and then sends the conversions that matter to your ad platforms. The analytics is the proof. The delivery is the point.

Same visit, two tools. Here is what each one does with it.

The visitProduct analyticsDataCops

A real lead signs upA step in the funnelSent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X
The deal closes in the CRMNot in the product eventsWon, with its value, matched to the ad click

For ad work, that is the whole difference. Amplitude answers "what do users do in my product?" DataCops answers "which ad clicks were real, and did the ads hear about the sale?"

A dashboard tells you what happened. Tracking makes the next ad click better.

The real difference: counting vs delivering

Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.

Every visit gets a verdict

DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and shows the verdict in first-party analytics. You see which ad clicks were real people. Then one switch per ad platform, Real people only, keeps flagged visits out of it (see click fraud protection). It is off by default. With it on, about 99% of bots are kept out.

Conversions reach the ads

DataCops runs server-side from your own subdomain. You connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn and conversions are sent server-side to each one. Google Ads actions are created as secondary, so nothing takes over your bidding until you decide.

The sale happens after the form

For a clinic, an agency or a B2B team, the money comes later: the booked call, the show-up, the deal marked won. DataCops installs once on your HighLevel agency. Form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone. Any other CRM posts to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. See offline conversions.

Consent is built in

Amplitude's pricing page lists no consent manager. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built on IAB TCF v2.2, served from your domain. Website events wait for consent before they are sent.

You can see why each event was sent

DataCops writes every conversion as a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it. When a client asks why last month's leads dropped in Meta, you open the row.

Privacy and deletion are handled

Visitors ask for deletion through a form on your privacy page, confirm by email, and their session is anonymised, with a status page. Deletion callbacks from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn run automatically; Google Ads deletion is still manual. Click IDs, sessions and the click log are deleted after 90 days. The identity store holds hashed email and phone only.

Amplitude shows you the funnel. DataCops fixes what the ads learn from it.

The real cost of a free tool

For ad tracking, the price is not the problem. The cost is everything you still build next to it. Answer these with your own numbers.

What is one hour of your team's time worth? $ / hour
1

How many hours will it take to build your event plan, conversion feeds and bot rules around Amplitude before the first sale is tracked?

2

How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?

3

If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?

Fill in your own numbers. Only you know what an hour and a lead are worth to your business.

The last question matters most. When the ads only see form fills, including the ones bots filled, they learn to find more of the same. Cost per sale climbs, and the funnel chart still looks fine.

Free analytics is cheap. Ads trained on bots are not.

1. DataCops: best Amplitude alternative for ads

First-party analytics + conversions

DataCops is not a product analytics tool. It is the tracking layer: real sessions counted from your own subdomain, a bot verdict on every visit, and conversions, including CRM stages, sent to the eight ad platforms.

Why people switch to it

  • Bot-filtered numbers you can trust
  • Conversions reach Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest, X
  • Booked, showed, won and paid from your CRM
  • Consent manager built in

Worth knowing

  • Real people only is off until you switch it on
  • Built for ad tracking, not in-product experiments

Best for: teams whose analytics exists to make their ads work.

2. Mixpanel: best like-for-like swap

Product analytics · check mixpanel.com for current pricing

Mixpanel does the same kind of work as Amplitude: events, funnels, retention. If you like product analytics and only want a different tool, it is the closest move. It is still a dashboard, so the ad questions stay open.

Best for: teams that want Amplitude's job done by a different vendor.

3. PostHog: best for engineers

All-in-one product analytics · check posthog.com for current pricing

PostHog bundles product analytics with replays, flags and experiments, and is built for developers. Strong for the product. Like Amplitude, it is not built around sending sales to your ads.

Best for: teams whose engineers own analytics and want one toolkit.

4. GA4: best free web analytics

Web analytics

GA4 is free and everywhere. It covers traffic and marketing reports well enough for many sites. It is lighter on product depth than Amplitude, and it counts what reaches it, bots included.

Best for: sites that need free traffic reports and nothing more.

5. Plausible: best simple stats

Privacy-first web analytics · check plausible.io for current pricing

Plausible gives you one clean page of traffic stats, privacy-first. It is the opposite of Amplitude in depth, and that is the appeal. It does not try to feed your ad platforms.

Best for: sites that want simple numbers and nothing to configure.

How to choose

Pick DataCops if

  • You spend on Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest or X and want them to learn who buys.
  • Bots and fake leads are inflating your numbers.
  • Your sales close after the form, in HighLevel or another CRM.

When not to use DataCops

  • Keep Amplitude only if you use it for in-product analytics. DataCops covers the tracking, bot filtering, consent and ad conversion job. If your team also relies on Amplitude for that other work, run both and send each ad conversion from one place only.
  • You run no ads. A simple analytics dashboard is the right answer if you do not buy traffic.
  • You need session replay, heatmaps or deep product analytics. Product analytics tools do that better. DataCops is a first-party analytics and ad-conversion tool.

What's your actual goal?

If you run ads, nobody wants another chart. You want five things:

  1. Count real visitors, not bots, datacenters and proxies.
  2. Capture every lead and sale, including the ones ad blockers and Safari hide.
  3. Send them to your ad platforms, so Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X learn who buys.
  4. Include the sales that happen offline, on a call or in your CRM.
  5. Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.

Amplitude covers the first half of step one: counting. The rest is a separate stack. Here is the same goal, done both ways.

The traditional way, with Amplitude

  1. Install the Amplitude SDK and plan your event names.
  2. Build funnels and dashboards for the marketing team.
  3. Set up a separate tool to send conversions to each ad platform.
  4. Build click ID capture and keep it alive past Safari's limits.
  5. Buy a consent banner and wire it into every tool.
  6. Find your own way to keep bots out of the numbers and the ads.
  7. Connect your CRM to the ad platforms, client by client.

With DataCops

  1. Add one script and one DNS record.
  2. Connect each ad platform with one click.
  3. Switch on the consent manager.
  4. Switch on Real people only.
  5. Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.

Then read one report you can trust. Real sessions, real clicks, and every conversion with a delivery row.

Amplitude sells one slice of the chain. DataCops is the chain, from the click to the sale to the ad platform.

Why people leave Amplitude

Amplitude is a strong product analytics tool. People leave for reasons that sit outside that job.

  • It was bought for marketing. The questions were about ads and leads, and the answers came as product charts.
  • Events add up. Paid plans scale with events, and Growth and Enterprise are custom quotes.
  • Nothing reaches the ads. Its pricing page lists no ad platform delivery as a feature.
  • Consent is a separate job. Its pricing page lists no consent manager.
  • The sale happens in the CRM. Booked calls and won deals live in HighLevel or your CRM, not in product events.

Offline conversions: where the money is

Most businesses that run ads do not sell inside a product. The website collects the lead. The money comes later. Here is what DataCops sends, by industry.

Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays

Amplitude reports what happened on your site. It does not tell the ad platforms who your customers are, so new campaigns learn from scratch. The customers you already have are the best description of who to find.

Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:

  1. Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
  2. See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
  3. Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
  4. Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.

Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.

What else a dashboard never does

  • Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
  • Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
  • Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
  • Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
  • Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.

One tool where Amplitude is one part

Amplitude covers one job. Ad-funded businesses usually pay for four or five tools to get from a click to a clean conversion. DataCops runs that whole chain from one script on your own domain:

  • Consent. A banner built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard, Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, and a server check of the visitor's choice before every send.
  • Bots kept out. Every visit gets a verdict. Real people only, switched on per platform, keeps bot and datacenter conversions away from your ads.
  • Every platform, counted once. Conversions go server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, with one event ID so the pixel and server copies count once.
  • The sale after the form. Booked, won and paid stages from HighLevel or any CRM go back to the ad click that started them.
  • A record of every send. The delivery log shows each conversion as sent, held, skipped or failed, with the reason.
  • Click fraud, on Organization. Repeat bot IPs are challenged or blocked at your Cloudflare edge, and flagged Google Ads clicks export as refund evidence for Google's Click Quality Form.

What to know before you switch

  • Keep Amplitude only if you use it for in-product analytics. DataCops covers the tracking, bot filtering, consent and ad conversion job. If your team also relies on Amplitude for that other work, run both and send each ad conversion from one place only.
  • Pick the plan for your busiest month. Free covers 2,000 sessions. Sessions over the plan are skipped until you upgrade or the month resets.
  • Switch Real people only on from day one. It is set per ad platform and starts off on a new site.

Moving from Amplitude to DataCops

  1. Keep Amplitude running while you test. Nothing to remove on day one.
  2. Add one script and one DNS record for DataCops.
  3. Connect your ad accounts and switch off any other tool sending the same conversions, so nothing counts twice.
  4. Connect your CRM (HighLevel or webhook) to send booked, showed, won and paid.
  5. Compare for two weeks: real sessions against Amplitude's counts, and match quality in the ad platforms.

Amplitude alternatives: FAQ

Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?

Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.

When should I keep Amplitude instead of switching?

Keep Amplitude only if you use it for in-product analytics. DataCops covers the tracking, bot filtering, consent and ad conversion job. If your team also relies on Amplitude for that other work, run both and send each ad conversion from one place only.

What is the best Amplitude alternative?

DataCops, because it replaces Amplitude plus the rest of the ad tracking stack in one tool: first-party tracking from your own subdomain, a bot verdict on every visit, a built-in consent manager, and conversions and CRM sales sent server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. It is free up to 2,000 sessions. If what you need from Amplitude is in-product analytics: funnels, cohorts, replay and experiments, Mixpanel or PostHog are the closest product analytics swaps.

Does Amplitude send conversions to Meta or Google Ads?

We have not verified this on Amplitude's own documentation, so we make no claim here. Its pricing page does not list ad platform delivery as a feature. DataCops sends conversions server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, including CRM stages like booked, showed and won.

Is DataCops a replacement for Amplitude?

Yes, for the ad and tracking job. DataCops counts real sessions first-party from your own subdomain, puts a bot verdict on every visit, and sends conversions and CRM sales to your ad platforms, with consent built in. If your team also uses Amplitude for in-product experiments, you can keep it for that.

Does DataCops filter bots from analytics?

Every visit gets a verdict: bot, datacenter, VPN or proxy. You see it in first-party analytics, and you can switch on Real people only per ad platform so flagged visits never reach it. The switch is off by default. With it on, about 99% of bots are kept out.

How does DataCops count sessions?

A session is one visit, like in Google Analytics. A new session starts after 30 minutes of no activity. Amplitude counts events, so the two free tiers use different units and cannot be compared directly.

What happens when I go over my DataCops plan?

Sessions past your plan are skipped until you upgrade or the month resets. Size the plan for your busiest month.

Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?

Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
