The short answer
Clearout checks the email. DataCops checks the visitor, and decides which leads your ads learn from.
DataCops is a tool for the ad side of signup fraud: it gives every visit a bot verdict, checks each signup email, keeps flagged signups from reaching your ad platforms, sends the real sale back to the click, and lets you warm up new campaigns with your existing customers.
How DataCops does it:
- Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
- The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
- First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
- Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
Best for: ad-funded SaaS and lead gen teams, agencies, and anyone whose signups come from paid campaigns and whose fakes are polluting the ads.
The alternatives at a glance:
- DataCops: best overall if fake leads are hurting your ads. LeadCops rejects bad leads on the form, Real people only keeps bots away from each ad platform, and CRM stages go back to your ads.
- ZeroBounce: best for email list validation and scoring.
- IPQualityScore: best for fraud scores on signups and payments.
- CleanTalk: best for cheap spam blocking on WordPress forms.
- NeverBounce: best for bulk email list cleaning.
Most people look for a Clearout alternative because their forms still fill with junk. The emails pass. The phones pass. The leads still go nowhere, and the ad account keeps paying for more of them.
Every Clearout alternatives list compares accuracy rates and credit prices, as if a valid email were the goal. It is not. The goal is ads that find buyers. That is what this guide is about.
Is a valid email a real lead?
No. A validation tool answers one question: does this email or phone exist? That is useful. It is not the question that costs you money.
- Bots use real emails. A form bot can type a working Gmail address. It passes every check, and a bot sent it.
- The fake lead still reaches your ads. The pixel fires on submit. Meta counts a conversion and goes looking for more visitors like that one.
- The check happens too late in the chain. It looks at a field. Your ad spend is decided by the visit, the click and the conversion sent afterwards.
Follow one lead from click to sale and you can see the whole chain:
- The click. Was it a person, or a bot on a datacenter IP?
- The form. Is the email real, or a throwaway or a domain that cannot receive mail?
- The conversion. Should Meta hear about this lead now, or wait until it is confirmed?
- The sale. Did the lead book, show up and pay, and did your ads hear about that?
Clearout owns step 2, and owns it well. Steps 1, 3 and 4 decide what your ads learn, and it has nothing there. So the real job is not "is this email valid". It is "did a real person send this, and should my ads learn from it". DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
LeadCops: the form with the checks built in
LeadCops is the DataCops lead form. You build it in DataCops and add it to any page with two lines of code. It rejects fake leads with email rules (throwaway providers, domains that cannot receive mail) and a risk score. It can also hold each lead's ad conversion until your CRM confirms the lead, so Meta only hears about the ones that turned out real. Add Real people only per ad platform and flagged visits are kept out of that platform. See lead generation.
A valid email tells you the inbox exists. It does not tell you a buyer is behind it.
The real difference: who, not just what
Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.
Every visit gets a verdict
Clearout looks at what was typed. DataCops looks at who typed it. Every visit gets a verdict for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and that turns into one switch per ad platform (see click fraud protection). With Real people only on for Meta, flagged visits never reach Meta. It is off by default, and when on it keeps about 99% of bots out.
Hold the conversion until the lead is real
A pixel fires the moment the form is sent. By the time you find out the lead was fake, Meta already learned from it. LeadCops can hold each lead's ad conversion until your CRM confirms the lead, so only confirmed leads train your ads. Clearout has nothing in that path; it checks the field and hands off.
The sale happens after the form
For a clinic, an agency or a B2B team, the money comes later. DataCops installs once on your HighLevel agency; pick the clients, and form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices go to each client's Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone. Any other CRM posts the sale to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. Read more on offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
Tracking that survives ad blockers
Clearout does no tracking. DataCops sends conversions server-side from your own subdomain, so ad blockers and Safari do not strip them. Click IDs are kept 90 days and visitors are remembered up to 400 days (in the EU that still needs consent). Every ad click lands in a click log in first-party analytics.
You can see why each lead was sent
Clearout's Forensics log is good: every submission with its verdict and reason. DataCops keeps the same kind of log one step later, where the money is: every conversion as a row per ad platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it.
Consent and deletion are built in
DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. Google Consent Mode v2 is on by default, the banner shows in Europe by default, and the server checks consent again before every send. Visitors can ask to be deleted from your privacy page: they confirm by email, their session is anonymised, and a status page shows what was done. Deletion requests from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are handled automatically; Google Ads deletions are still manual. We found no consent manager on Clearout's site.
Every send is written to the delivery log, one row per platform with the reason, and each lead carries one event ID so it is counted once.
On the Organization plan, two more tools work on paid clicks. Cloudflare edge blocking stops flagged traffic before it loads your page, and Google refund evidence exports the last 60 days of invalid clicks as a CSV for Google's Click Quality Form. Google decides the refund.
Clearout tells you the email is valid. DataCops tells you whether the lead should reach your ads.
The real cost of a per-check tool
Clearout charges in credits, 2 per Form Guard check. That is the only number on the invoice. The real cost is in the questions nobody asks before they buy. Answer them with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build your form checks, tracking, bot rules and CRM links before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question matters most. A fake lead that passes the check still fires your pixel. The ads learn from it, find more like it, and your cost per real lead climbs without anything in the dashboard saying why.
DataCops prices by session instead: one visit, like in Google Analytics, with a new session after 30 minutes of no activity. Free covers 2,000 sessions. Over quota, sessions are skipped until you upgrade or the month resets.
A cheap check on the form is expensive if the fake lead still trains your ads.

1. DataCops: best Clearout alternative overall
DataCops attacks fake leads from both ends. On the form, LeadCops rejects throwaway and dead email domains and scores risk. Around it, every visit gets a bot verdict, Real people only keeps flagged visits away from each ad platform, and conversions can wait until your CRM confirms the lead. Then the real sales go back to your ads.
Why people switch to it
- Every visit gets a bot verdict, even when the email looks real
- Fake leads never train your ads
- Booked, showed, won and paid from HighLevel or any CRM
- Tracking and consent in the same tool
Worth knowing
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
- Edge blocking and refund evidence are on Organization
Best for: teams whose fake leads cost ad money, not just CRM space.

2. ZeroBounce: best for email list validation
ZeroBounce is Clearout's closest twin: deep email checks, bulk cleaning and scoring. If you mostly clean lists before sending, it is a direct swap. Like Clearout, it checks the address, not the visitor, and sends nothing to your ads. Compare it on our ZeroBounce page.
Why people switch to it
- Strong email scoring
- Free monthly allowance
Worth knowing
- No bot verdict per visit
- Nothing sent to ad platforms
Best for: getting Clearout's job done by a different vendor.

3. IPQualityScore: best for fraud scoring
IPQS scores bots, proxies, VPNs, Tor, emails and phones, and says on its site that it uses device identification. It is strong for signups and payments. It is an API: your developers call it and decide what to do with the score, and it sends nothing to your ad platforms.
Why people switch to it
- Broad fraud signals
- Email and phone in one API
Worth knowing
- Developer work to use it
- No conversion sending
Best for: teams with developers who need a fraud score in their own app.

4. CleanTalk: best for cheap WordPress spam blocking
CleanTalk blocks spam on WordPress forms and comments for very little money. It is the simplest fix for spam in your inbox. It does not check lead quality deeply and does not touch your ad conversions.
Why people switch to it
- Very cheap
- Easy on WordPress
Worth knowing
- Spam only, not lead quality
- Nothing sent to ad platforms
Best for: sites where spam in the inbox is the whole problem.

5. NeverBounce: best for bulk list cleaning
NeverBounce is a long-running list cleaner. Upload a list, get back the bad addresses. Good before a big email send. Like the other validators, it checks addresses, not visitors, and has no link to your ads.
Why people switch to it
- Simple bulk cleaning
Worth knowing
- Not a form or bot tool
- Nothing sent to ad platforms
Best for: cleaning a list, not protecting a form.

How to choose a Clearout alternative
- Ask what hurts. Bounced emails? Pick a validator. Fake leads training your ads? Pick DataCops.
- Check where the money is decided. If it is in Meta or Google Ads, the fix must reach them.
- Look at who fills your forms. Bots with real emails need a verdict on the visit.
- Price the whole chain. Validator plus tracking tool plus consent banner plus CRM link, against one tool.
Pick DataCops if
- Fake leads keep reaching your ads as conversions.
- You run Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or LinkedIn and want them to learn from real buyers.
- Your sales close after the form, in HighLevel or another CRM.
When not to use DataCops
- Clearout is the deeper contact checker. Its phone carrier and VoIP checks, name checks, Email Finder and bulk list cleaning go further than DataCops on the contact itself. If your sales team calls every lead, Clearout still earns its place on the list side.
- You need to judge accounts inside your product. Account takeover, payment fraud, multi-accounting and manual review are what fraud and identity tools are built for. DataCops does none of that.
- You do not run paid ads. If fakes are not reaching an ad platform, an account-fraud tool alone may be all you need.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody wants a verified email for its own sake. You want five things:
- Get real leads, not bots and throwaway addresses.
- Keep fake leads out of your ads, so Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X do not learn from them.
- Capture every real lead, including the ones ad blockers and Safari hide.
- Send the sales that happen later, the booked call, the show-up, the won deal.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
Clearout covers the first one well. DataCops covers all five. Here is the same goal, done both ways.
The traditional way, with Clearout
- Add the Form Guard snippet to your pages.
- Pick which email, phone and name rules to switch on.
- Keep your ad pixels firing on submit, as before.
- Set up server-side tracking with another tool.
- Buy a consent banner and wire it in.
- Build bot rules for your ad platforms somewhere else.
- Connect your CRM stages to the ads with a third tool.
- Watch your credits, 2 per form check.
With DataCops
- Add one script and one DNS record.
- Add a LeadCops form with two lines of code.
- Connect each ad platform with one click.
- Switch on Real people only and the consent manager.
- Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.
Then run your business. Bad leads are rejected, bots are kept away from the ads, and real sales go back to them.
Clearout cleans the form. DataCops cleans what your ads learn from.
Why people leave Clearout
Clearout does its job well. People leave for reasons that sit around the check, not in it.
- Junk still gets through. A bot with a real email passes an email check.
- The ads still learn from fake leads. Clearout does not decide what reaches Meta or Google Ads.
- It is one more tool. Tracking, consent, bot rules and CRM sales all live elsewhere.
- You pay per check. Every form check costs credits, including checks on bot traffic.
- The sale never shows up. A booked call or a won deal happens in your CRM, after Clearout is done.
None of that is a flaw in Clearout. It is a validator. The problem is asking a validator to fix your ads.
Clearout answers "is this email real". Your ad budget needs "is this lead real".
Offline conversions: the job a validator cannot do
A checked email is the start. The money comes later, and that later moment is what your ads need to learn from. Here is what DataCops sends, by industry.
| Business | What the pixel sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Clinics, dental, med spa | Booking form | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Home services, roofing, solar | Quote request | Estimate booked, job won with its value |
| Agencies running client ads | Form fills per client | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| B2B and SaaS | Demo request, signup | Qualified lead, trial, paid, by webhook |
| Legal, finance, high-ticket services | Enquiry | Consult booked, client signed |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Each sale goes to the ad platforms that sent the click.
Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays
Clearout scores accounts and visitors inside your product. It does not tell the ad platforms which people are real customers, so new campaigns learn from scratch. The customers you already have are the best description of who to find.
Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:
- Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
- See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
- Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
- Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.
Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
What else a fraud API never does
- Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
- Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
- Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
- Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
- Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.
Meta health and wellness restrictions
If you advertise a clinic, a treatment, a supplement or anything health related, Meta may restrict the events it accepts from you. What usually gets an account restricted is the data itself: the page link names the treatment, the event is called Book_Implant_Consult, the form sends symptoms.
With Clearout, this is not its job. It checks the contact, it does not send events to Meta, so the tracking tool you pair it with has to keep the data clean.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only a short approved list and blocks everything else: hashed email and phone, the ad click, value, currency and order ID. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, so Lead becomes L_1. A field a clinic adds tomorrow is blocked by default.
Read more on Meta health and wellness restrictions.
Setup, step by step, side by side
Here is the same job done both ways, from a fresh lead form to your ads learning from real leads.
| The job | With Clearout | |
|---|---|---|
| Check the form | Add the Form Guard snippet, pick your rules. | Add a LeadCops form with two lines of code. |
| Keep bots away from the ads | Not built in. Needs another tool. | Switch on Real people only for each platform. |
| Send conversions server-side | Not built in. Needs a tracking tool. | One script, one DNS record, one click per ad platform. |
| Handle consent | Not built in. Bring a consent banner. | Switch on the built-in consent manager. |
| Send a CRM sale to the ads | Not built in. Needs a third tool. | Install once on HighLevel, or post to your webhook. |
| Find out why a lead is missing | Forensics log for the form check. | Delivery log row per platform, with the reason. |
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald
What to know before you switch
- Clearout is the deeper contact checker. Its phone carrier and VoIP checks, name checks, Email Finder and bulk list cleaning go further than DataCops on the contact itself. If your sales team calls every lead, Clearout still earns its place on the list side.
- Your forms stay, the judge changes. Form Guard reads your existing forms; LeadCops is the DataCops form. Moving means swapping the lead form, then letting every visit carry a bot verdict and every lead go server-side to the 8 ad platforms.
- Leftover credits are not wasted. Clearout credits never expire, so keep them for list cleaning while new leads run through DataCops. Turn on Real people only per platform (it is off by default) once the delivery log looks right.
Moving from Clearout
- Add DataCops next to Clearout. One script and one DNS record.
- Put a LeadCops form on one landing page with two lines of code.
- Connect your ad accounts with one click each and switch on Real people only for one platform.
- Compare for two weeks: leads rejected, visits skipped as bots, and lead quality in your CRM.
- Connect HighLevel or your webhook, then decide whether you still need Clearout for list cleaning.
Every DataCops product mentioned here

Clearout alternatives: FAQ
Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?
Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
When should I keep Clearout instead of switching?
Clearout is the deeper contact checker. Its phone carrier and VoIP checks, name checks, Email Finder and bulk list cleaning go further than DataCops on the contact itself. If your sales team calls every lead, Clearout still earns its place on the list side.
What is the best Clearout alternative?
DataCops, for most ad-funded businesses. It replaces Clearout and the rest of the stack: one script, a bot verdict on every visit, a built-in consent manager, server-side sends to 8 ad platforms, and your CRM sales matched to the ad click. Other picks depend on the job. If you clean email lists in bulk, ZeroBounce or NeverBounce. If you want fraud scores on signups, IPQualityScore. If your real problem is fake leads reaching your ads, DataCops: LeadCops, its lead form, rejects throwaway and dead email domains, scores risk, and can hold each ad conversion until your CRM confirms the lead, while Real people only keeps bot visits away from Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
What is Clearout Form Guard?
A JavaScript snippet that finds the forms on your page and checks fields as the visitor types: email syntax, mail server, disposable and role addresses, phone carrier and VoIP, and names for gibberish or profanity. It logs each submission with a verdict and can capture contacts from abandoned forms.
Does Clearout stop bots?
On the form, yes: it checks the data typed and blocks spam. It does not judge the visit itself (datacenter, VPN or proxy traffic across your site), and it does not decide what reaches your ad platforms. DataCops gives every visit a verdict and, with Real people only switched on for a platform, keeps flagged visits out of it.
Does Clearout send conversions to Meta or Google Ads?
We found no such feature on its site. Clearout checks contact data and passes it to CRMs like HubSpot, Salesforce and Marketo. DataCops sends conversions server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X from your own subdomain.
What is LeadCops?
The DataCops lead form with checks built in. You build it in DataCops and add it to any page with two lines of code. It rejects fake leads with email rules (throwaway providers, domains that cannot receive mail) and a risk score, and it can hold the ad conversion for each lead until your CRM confirms it. See lead generation.
Is Clearout better at email verification than DataCops?
Yes. Clearout checks disposable and role addresses, phone carriers and names, and cleans lists in bulk. DataCops checks the email rules that matter for fake leads, and judges the visitor. A real person typing a fake email is Clearout territory; a bot typing a real-looking one is ours.
Can I use Clearout and DataCops together?
Yes. Keep Clearout for list cleaning or deep phone checks, and let DataCops decide which leads and sales reach your ad platforms. They do different jobs.
How is DataCops priced compared with Clearout?
Clearout charges per check, in credits. A session is one visit, like in Google Analytics, with a new one after 30 minutes of no activity.
