The short answer
WhatConverts tells you a call came from an ad. DataCops tells the ad which calls turned into money.
DataCops is a tool that makes the ads learn from real sales: it sends booked, showed, won and paid stages from your CRM back to your ad platforms, gives every visit a bot verdict with a Real people only switch per platform, warms up new campaigns with your existing customers, and logs every send. It is not an attribution report.
How DataCops does it:
- The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
- First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
- Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
- Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
Best for: ad-funded businesses whose sales close in a CRM or on a call: clinics, home services, agencies, B2B and lead gen.
The alternatives at a glance:
- DataCops: best for ads that learn who paid. Replaces the tracking stack and sends booked, showed, won and paid from your CRM to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, with bots kept out.
- CallRail: best call tracker for small businesses that want calls, texts and transcripts together.
- CallTrackingMetrics: best for teams that want unlimited users and call routing.
- Invoca: best for enterprise call centres.
- WildJar: best for Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Most people who search for a WhatConverts alternative want one of two things. Some want a different call tracker: cheaper minutes, more users, better routing. Others have a quieter problem. The calls are logged, the dashboard looks fine, and the ads still keep finding the wrong people.
Every WhatConverts alternatives list compares number pools and minute prices. None of them ask what happens after the call ends. That is what this guide is about.
DataCops is not a call tracker. Here is why it is on this list
Let us be clear first. DataCops has no tracking numbers, no call recording, no transcripts and no call analytics. If recorded calls matter to you, a basic call plan can sit alongside it.
Now the part nobody says. A logged call is not a sale. The caller books a job. Maybe they show up. Maybe they pay. All of that happens in your CRM, days or weeks later. If Meta and Google Ads only ever hear "a call happened," they learn to find more people who call. Not people who pay.
DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses. It replaces the stack around the call: server-side tracking, a built-in cookie banner, bot filtering, click fraud protection and CRM sales sent back to the ads.
That is the gap DataCops fills. Your CRM already knows who booked, who showed and who paid. DataCops sends those stages to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click, and can keep flagged bot visits out. The call tracker logs the call. DataCops teaches the ad what the call was worth.
Put simply, here is who does what when you run both.
| Step in the chain | Who does it |
|---|---|
| Show a tracking number and record the call | Your call tracker |
| Tie the call to the keyword or ad | Your call tracker |
| Send website leads server-side, bots kept out if you switch it on | DataCops |
| Record booked, showed, won and paid | Your CRM |
| Send those stages to every connected ad platform, matched to the click | DataCops |
The call tracker is one slice of the chain. The ad needs the whole chain, right up to the paid invoice.
The real difference: what the ad learns
Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.
The money comes after the call
A roofer gets a call from a Google ad. WhatConverts logs it and ties it to the keyword. Good. Two days later the estimate is booked. Google Ads never hears about either.
DataCops is built around that later moment. Install it once on your HighLevel agency and pick the clients. Leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices go to each client's Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click. Any other CRM posts the stage to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. See offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
Every platform, server-side
WhatConverts lists integrations with Google Ads, Bing Ads and Facebook Ads. We found no mention of the Meta Conversions API or a TikTok or LinkedIn server feed on its site.
DataCops sends server-side from your own subdomain to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. One script and one DNS record, then connect each platform. Google Ads actions are created as secondary, so nothing changes your bidding until you decide.
Bots do not become leads
Bots fill forms. If those leads reach Meta, Meta goes looking for more of them. We found no bot or VPN check on WhatConverts' features page.
DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies (see click fraud protection). Turn on Real people only for a platform and flagged visits never reach it. It is off by default, so you choose where. Once on, bots and datacenter traffic are blocked, and VPN, proxy and Tor blocking are optional. On the Organization plan, repeat bot IPs are pushed to your Cloudflare and challenged at the edge, and flagged Google Ads clicks export as refund evidence. Stages that come in from your CRM carry no bot flag.
Consent is built in
We found no consent manager on WhatConverts' site. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. The cookie banner shows in Europe by default, Google Consent Mode v2 is on by default, and the server checks consent again before every send.
You can see why each conversion was sent
WhatConverts has strong lead reports. They tell you where a lead came from. DataCops answers a different question: what did each ad platform receive? Every conversion is a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it.
WhatConverts tells you who called. DataCops tells the ad who paid.
The real cost of a cheap tool
Numbers, minutes, transcription and texts come on top. But the real cost is in the questions nobody asks before they buy. Answer them with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build your call tracking, CRM hand-offs and conversion uploads before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question matters most. When the ads only see calls, they learn to find more callers, not more customers.
A logged call is a lead. A paid invoice is the signal your ads are starving for.

The 5 WhatConverts alternatives compared
| Best for | Call tracking | CRM stages to ads | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replacing the tracking stack | Through CRM stages | Native | |
CallRail | Small businesses | Yes | Not stated |
| Teams, call routing | Yes | Not stated | |
Invoca | Enterprise call centres | Yes | Not stated |

1. DataCops: best for ads that learn who paid
DataCops replaces the stack around the call: tracking, server-side, consent, bot filtering, click fraud and CRM sales back to the ads. Website conversions go server-side from your own domain. Every visit gets a bot verdict. And the stages after the call, booked, showed, won and paid, come from your CRM and reach the ads, matched to the click.
Why people add it
- The ads learn which calls became paying jobs
- HighLevel native, any CRM by webhook
- Real people only keeps bots out
- Consent manager built in
Worth knowing
- Calls reach the ads as CRM stages, not recordings
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
Best for: call-heavy businesses that want the ads to learn who paid.

2. CallRail: best for small businesses
CallRail is the best-known name in call tracking. Its Lead Tracking plan bundles numbers, minutes, transcription and texts, which suits a small business that wants the phone side in one place. Like WhatConverts, it logs the call. The stages after it still need a way back to the ads. See our CallRail alternatives guide.
Why people switch to it
- Calls, texts and transcripts together
- Minutes and numbers included
Worth knowing
- Usage billed on top
- Higher entry price than WhatConverts
Best for: anyone who wants a well-known call tracker with transcripts built in.
3. CallTrackingMetrics: best for teams and call routing
CallTrackingMetrics, now at ctm.com, gives you unlimited users and call routing menus. It integrates with Google Ads, GA4 and Google Local Services Ads. Agencies and teams with many people answering calls like it. See our CallTrackingMetrics alternatives guide.
Why people switch to it
- Unlimited users
- Call routing
Worth knowing
- More than a small team needs
- Stages after the call still need a path to the ads
Best for: teams where many people answer your calls.

4. Invoca: best for enterprise call centres
Invoca is built for big call centres that want to analyse what is said on each call. It does not appear to list a public price; check invoca.com. For a local business or a small agency, it is usually more than you need.
Why people switch to it
- Conversation intelligence
- Built for large volumes
Worth knowing
- No public price
- Heavy for small teams
Best for: call centres that want to analyse the conversations.

5. WildJar: best for Australia, New Zealand and the UK
WildJar is strong where WhatConverts is thinner: local numbers and support in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Starter includes AI transcription and integrations with Google Ads and HubSpot.
Why people switch to it
- Local in AU, NZ and UK
- First month free
Worth knowing
- Higher entry price
- Fewer numbers on Starter
Best for: businesses in Australia, New Zealand or the UK.
When not to use DataCops
- Call tracking numbers stay with a call tracker. DataCops tracks forms, signups, bookings and CRM sales. If the phone is a main lead source, keep WhatConverts numbers for calls.
- You want an attribution dashboard. Reporting and modelling are what attribution tools are for. DataCops cleans and sends what goes into your ads; it is not a reporting layer.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody buys call tracking for the numbers. You want five things:
- Know which ad made the phone ring, and which form or chat came from where.
- Send every lead to your ad platforms, including the ones ad blockers and Safari hide.
- Send what happened next, the booked job, the show-up and the paid invoice.
- Keep bots out, so the platforms do not learn from fake leads.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
WhatConverts does the first one very well. The rest sit outside a call tracker. Here is the same goal, done both ways.
The traditional way, WhatConverts alone
- Buy tracking numbers and set up number swapping.
- Add form and chat tracking on Plus or higher.
- Connect Google Ads, and Facebook Ads where you can.
- Decide by hand which leads were good ones.
- Wire bookings and payments from your CRM through Zapier.
- Find a consent banner somewhere else, since none is shown on its site.
- Hope no bot leads went into your ad accounts.
With DataCops
- Add one DataCops script and one DNS record.
- Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X with one click, and Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest with an API key.
- Connect HighLevel, or your CRM by webhook.
- Switch on Real people only and the built-in cookie banner.
Then run your business. Booked, showed, won and paid reach the ads by themselves.
Why people look past WhatConverts
WhatConverts is a well-liked call tracker. People look further for reasons that sit around the call, not in it.
- The sale never reaches the ad. The call is logged. The booked job and the paid invoice live in your CRM.
- No server feed shown to Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn. Its site lists Facebook Ads, not the Conversions API.
- Bots are not mentioned. We found no bot verdict or spam filter on its features page.
- No native HighLevel. Agencies on HighLevel go through Zapier.
Offline conversions by industry
Call-heavy businesses almost never sell on the website. Here is what a call tracker sees, and what DataCops adds from your CRM.
| Business | What the call tracker sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Home services, roofing, solar | Inbound call from an ad | Estimate booked, job won with its value |
| Clinics, dental, med spa | Booking call | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Legal and finance | Enquiry call | Consult booked, client signed |
| Agencies running client ads | Calls per client | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| Car dealers and high-ticket sales | Sales call | Test drive booked, deal won |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Each stage is matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and counted once.
- A visitor clicks your ad. DataCops keeps the click ID on your own domain for 90 days.
- They call or fill a form. Your call tracker logs the call. Your CRM gets the contact.
- The lead books, shows up and pays in your CRM, days or weeks later.
- DataCops matches the stage to the click and sends it to every connected ad platform.
Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays
WhatConverts tells you which touchpoints led to revenue. It does not tell the ad platforms who your customers are, so new campaigns learn from scratch. The customers you already have are the best description of who to find.
Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:
- Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
- See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
- Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
- Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.
Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
What else a reporting tool never does
- Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
- Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
- Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
- Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
- Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.
Meta health and wellness restrictions
Clinics, dental practices and med spas live on the phone, and they are exactly the businesses Meta restricts. What gets an account restricted is the data: a page link that names the treatment, an event called Book_Implant_Consult, a form that sends symptoms.
With a call tracker alone, that part is not its job. Whatever your pixel and CRM hand-offs send to Meta, you clean up yourself.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only a short approved list of fields and blocks everything else. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, so Lead becomes L_1. A field a clinic adds tomorrow is blocked by default.
Read more on Meta health and wellness restrictions.
Setup, step by step, side by side
Here is the same job done both ways.

| Get website events server-side | Not shown on its site. | One script and one DNS record. |
| Connect Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn | Facebook Ads integration listed. TikTok and LinkedIn not shown. | One click for Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn. An API key for Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest. |
| Send booked, won and paid | Connect a CRM through its listed integrations or Zapier, and map each stage yourself. | Install once on HighLevel, or post to a webhook. |
| Keep bots out | Not shown on its site. | Switch on Real people only per platform. |
| Handle consent | Not shown on its site. | Switch on the built-in cookie banner, built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. |
| Find out why a conversion is missing | Check the lead and the ad platform. | Open the delivery log row. The reason is next to it. |
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald

WhatConverts alternatives: FAQ
Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?
Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
When should I keep WhatConverts instead of switching?
Call tracking numbers stay with a call tracker. DataCops tracks forms, signups, bookings and CRM sales. If the phone is a main lead source, keep WhatConverts numbers for calls.
What is the best WhatConverts alternative?
DataCops, because it replaces WhatConverts and the rest of the tracking stack in one tool: server-side tracking from your own subdomain, a built-in cookie banner, a bot verdict on every visit, click fraud protection, and CRM stages like booked, showed, won and paid sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the click. Free up to 2,000 sessions, no demo needed.
Is DataCops a call tracking tool?
No. DataCops has no tracking numbers, no call recording and no call analytics. DataCops is the tracking layer that sends clean website conversions and CRM stages to your ad platforms, so the ads learn which calls became paying jobs. If recorded calls matter to you, a basic call plan can sit alongside it.
Can I use WhatConverts and DataCops together?
Yes. WhatConverts records the call. DataCops takes the booked, showed, won and paid stages from HighLevel or any CRM by webhook and sends them to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the original click.
Does WhatConverts send conversions to Meta?
WhatConverts lists Facebook Ads among its integrations. We found no mention of the Meta Conversions API, TikTok or LinkedIn server feeds on its site. DataCops sends server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
Does WhatConverts filter bots and spam leads?
We found no bot or VPN verdict and no spam filter on its features page. DataCops gives every visit a verdict (bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs, proxies) and, with Real people only switched on for a platform, keeps flagged visits out of it. It is off by default. Once on, bots and datacenter traffic are blocked, and VPN, proxy and Tor blocking are optional. On Organization, repeat bot IPs are also blocked at your Cloudflare edge.
Does WhatConverts work with HighLevel?
We found no native HighLevel integration on its integrations page; Zapier is listed. DataCops is native to HighLevel: install once for the agency, pick the clients, and it sends lead, booked, showed, won with value and paid.
Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?
Eight: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X connect with one click. Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest connect with an API key. Microsoft uses its UET Conversions API, a Microsoft pilot your account manager enables.
