The short answer
CallRail tells you which ad made the phone ring. DataCops tells the ad which calls turned into money.
DataCops is a tool that makes the ads learn from real sales: it sends booked, showed, won and paid stages from your CRM back to your ad platforms, gives every visit a bot verdict with a Real people only switch per platform, warms up new campaigns with your existing customers, and logs every send. It is not an attribution report.
How DataCops does it:
- The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
- First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
- Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
- Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
Best for: ad-funded businesses whose sales close in a CRM or on a call: clinics, home services, agencies, B2B and lead gen.
The alternatives at a glance:
- DataCops: best for ads that learn who paid. Replaces the tracking stack: web tracking, bot verdicts, consent, click fraud protection, and CRM stages sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
- WhatConverts: best for calls, forms and chat in one lead list.
- Nimbata: best for low-cost call tracking outside the US.
- CallTrackingMetrics: best for advanced routing and contact centers.
- Invoca: best for enterprise call revenue.
DataCops is not a call tracker. That is the point.
DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses. It replaces the stack around the call: server-side tracking, a built-in cookie banner, bot filtering, click fraud protection and CRM sales sent back to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
DataCops has no tracking numbers, no number pools and no call recording. Calls reach the ads as the CRM stages that follow them.
But look at where the chain breaks. An ad gets a click. The visitor calls. CallRail logs the call, records it, and can tell Google Ads a call happened. Then the real story starts: the estimate is booked, the customer shows up, the job is won, the invoice is paid. That happens in your CRM, days or weeks later.
If your ads only ever hear "a call happened," they learn to find people who call. Not people who pay. Tire kickers, wrong numbers and price shoppers all count the same as your best job of the month.
The call is the middle of the story. Your ads need the ending.
Here is the whole chain, and who does each link.
| Step | Who does it |
|---|---|
| 1. Someone clicks your ad | DataCops keeps the click ID on your own domain for 90 days |
| 2. They call from a tracking number | CallRail (DataCops has no numbers) |
| 3. The call is recorded and scored | CallRail (DataCops has no recordings) |
| 4. The lead lands in your CRM | CallRail or your CRM |
| 5. Booked, showed, won, paid | Your CRM records it. DataCops sends it to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X |
Steps 2 to 4 are call tracking. Steps 1 and 5 are the tracking layer. You need both if the phone makes you money.
So the question is not "CallRail or DataCops." It is: does your ad platform learn the booked job and the paid invoice? DataCops does that part. Its CRM link (HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook) sends booked, showed, won and paid back to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the original click.
The real difference: what your ads learn
Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.
The job gets booked after the call
A roofer gets a call from a Google ad. CallRail logs it and tells Google Ads a call happened. Google never hears about it.
DataCops keeps the ad click for 90 days. When the lead moves to booked, showed, won or paid in your CRM, DataCops sends that stage, with its value, to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the original click. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. Read more on offline conversions.
HighLevel, installed once
HighLevel was not on CallRail's integrations page when we checked. DataCops installs natively on HighLevel: once for your agency, then you pick the clients. Leads, booked, showed, won with value and paid go to each client's ad accounts. Any other CRM posts to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. See HighLevel conversion tracking.
Every visit gets a verdict
We found no bot filtering on CallRail's pricing or integrations pages. DataCops checks every website visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and turns it into one switch per ad platform (see click fraud protection). It is off by default. Turn on Real people only for Meta and flagged web conversions never reach Meta. Once on, bots and datacenter traffic are blocked, and VPN, proxy and Tor blocking are optional. On the Organization plan, repeat bot IPs are pushed to your Cloudflare and challenged at the edge, and flagged Google Ads clicks export as refund evidence. Events from your CRM carry no bot flag, so the switch filters web events.
Eight ad platforms, not three
CallRail lists Google Ads, Meta and Microsoft Ads. DataCops sends to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, server-side and first-party from your own subdomain.
You can see why each event was sent
DataCops writes every conversion as a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it. When a client asks why a won job did not show up in Meta, you open the row.
Consent and deletion are built in
We found no consent manager on CallRail's pricing or integrations pages. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. The cookie banner shows in Europe by default, Google Consent Mode v2 is on by default, and the server checks consent again before every send. Visitors can ask for deletion from your privacy page, confirm by email, and see a status page. Deletion requests from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are handled automatically. Google Ads deletions are still manual.
CallRail knows the phone rang. DataCops makes sure the ad knows what it was worth.
The real cost of a cheap tool
The bigger cost is what your ads learn from what you send them. Answer these with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build your call tracking, web pixels and CRM hand-offs before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question matters most. When ads only see calls and form fills, they chase more calls and form fills. Lead quality drops and cost per job climbs, and nothing in the call report tells you why.
A logged call is not a paid job. Your ad budget should know the difference.
Every feature, side by side

1. DataCops: best for ads that learn who paid
DataCops replaces the tracking stack around your calls: every web visit gets a bot verdict, conversions go server-side from your own domain, consent is built in, and the stages after the call come from your CRM, matched to the click. On Organization, repeat bot IPs are blocked at your Cloudflare edge.
Why people add it
- Booked, showed, won and paid reach the ads
- HighLevel native, any CRM by webhook
- Eight ad platforms, server-side
- Bot verdict and consent manager included
Worth knowing
- Calls reach the ads as CRM stages, not recordings
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
Best for: making sure your ads learn which calls became paid jobs.

2. WhatConverts: best for calls, forms and chat together
WhatConverts tracks calls, forms and chat as one list of leads, each with its source. Each plan includes usage credit.
Why people switch to it
- Lower entry price
- Calls, forms and chat per lead
- Unlimited accounts on agency plans
Worth knowing
- Still a call tracker, not a web tracking layer
Best for: teams that want every lead type in one list. See our WhatConverts alternatives.

3. Nimbata: best for low-cost calls outside the US
Nimbata charges a flat rate per answered call, not per minute. Its site says it covers 70+ countries.
Why people switch to it
- Pay per answered call
- 70+ countries
- 14-day trial
Worth knowing
- Forms and CRM start on Marketing
- Still a call tracker
Best for: cheap call tracking outside the US.
4. CallTrackingMetrics: best for routing and contact centers
CallTrackingMetrics suits teams that answer a lot of calls and need advanced routing and contact-center workflows. Its pricing page returned an error when we checked in September 2026, so check the price on its site before you compare.
Why people switch to it
- Advanced call routing
- Contact-center tools
Worth knowing
- Price not confirmed on its own site
- Built for larger call teams
Best for: running a call team. See our CallTrackingMetrics alternatives.

5. Invoca: best for enterprise call revenue
Invoca is built for large companies where calls drive a lot of revenue. There is no public price; you talk to sales. If you are a local business or a small agency, it is likely more than you need.
Why people switch to it
- Built for enterprise call volume
Worth knowing
- No public pricing
- Price only through sales
Best for: enterprises with a big call budget.
When not to use DataCops
- Call tracking numbers stay with a call tracker. DataCops tracks forms, signups, bookings and CRM sales. If the phone is a main lead source, keep CallRail numbers for calls.
- You want an attribution dashboard. Reporting and modelling are what attribution tools are for. DataCops cleans and sends what goes into your ads; it is not a reporting layer.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody wants tracking numbers for their own sake. You want five things:
- Know which ad brought each lead, by phone, form or booking.
- Send those leads to your ad platforms, so Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn and the rest learn who converts.
- Include what happens after the lead, the booked job, the show-up, the paid invoice.
- Keep bots out, so the platforms do not learn from fake form fills.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
CallRail covers the first one well for calls, and part of the second. DataCops covers the website side of all five. Here is the same goal done both ways.
The traditional way, with CallRail alone
- Buy tracking numbers and add the number-swap script.
- Connect Google Ads so calls count as conversions.
- Connect Meta and Microsoft Ads.
- Add a separate pixel or tag setup for web forms, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Buy a consent banner and wire it in.
- Find a way to get booked, won and paid from your CRM back to the ads.
- Hope bots in your forms are not counted as leads.
With DataCops
- Add one script and one DNS record.
- Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X with one click, and Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest with an API key.
- Switch on the built-in cookie banner.
- Switch on Real people only.
- Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.
Then run your business. Booked, showed, won and paid reach your ads by themselves.
CallRail answers "which ad made the phone ring." DataCops answers "which ad made us money."
Why people look past CallRail
CallRail does calls well. People look elsewhere for reasons around the call.
- Fewer ad platforms. TikTok and LinkedIn were not on its integrations page in September 2026.
- No HighLevel listing. Agencies on HighLevel did not find it on the integrations page.
- The paid job never reaches the ad. Calls become conversions. What happens after the call lives in your CRM.
- Calls are not your main lead source. If most leads come from forms and bookings, you may be paying for numbers you barely use.
Offline conversions, by industry
Businesses that buy call tracking are exactly the ones whose money arrives later. Here is what DataCops adds on top of the call.
| Business | What the call tracker sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Home services, roofing, HVAC, solar | Call from an ad | Estimate booked, job won with its value, invoice paid |
| Clinics, dental, med spa | Call to book | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Legal | Intake call | Consult booked, client signed |
| Agencies running local ads | Calls per client | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| Auto, real estate, finance | Enquiry call | Appointment booked, deal won |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook. Each stage is matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone.
- A visitor clicks your ad. DataCops keeps the click ID on your own domain.
- They call or fill a form. CallRail logs the call. The lead lands in your CRM.
- The job is booked, won and paid in your CRM, days or weeks later.
- DataCops sends each stage to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the click and counted once.
Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays
CallRail tells you which touchpoints led to revenue. It does not tell the ad platforms who your customers are, so new campaigns learn from scratch. The customers you already have are the best description of who to find.
Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:
- Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
- See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
- Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
- Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.
Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
What else a reporting tool never does
- Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
- Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
- Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
- Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
- Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.
Meta health and wellness restrictions
Dental, clinic and med spa calls are a big share of call tracking. Meta may restrict the events it accepts from health advertisers. What usually triggers it is the data: a page link that names the treatment, an event called Book_Implant_Consult.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only an approved field list. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, so Lead becomes L_1.
Read more on Meta health and wellness restrictions.
Setup, step by step, side by side
Here is the same job done both ways.
| The job | With CallRail | |
|---|---|---|
| Track phone calls | Buy numbers, add the swap script, set routing and recording. | Calls tie back through your CRM stages. |
| Track web forms | — | Web conversions go through the one script. |
| Send to Google Ads and Meta | Connect each integration. | One click each. |
| Send to TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest and X | Not listed. Separate pixels or tags. | One click for TikTok and LinkedIn. An API key for Reddit, Pinterest and X. |
| Send booked, won and paid | No HighLevel listing. Build it through your CRM. | Install once on HighLevel and pick clients, or post to your webhook. |
| Handle consent | Bring your own banner. | Switch on the built-in cookie banner, built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard. |
| Keep bots out | Not mentioned on the pages we checked. | Switch on Real people only per platform. |
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald
What to know before you switch
- Call tracking numbers stay with a call tracker. DataCops tracks forms, signups, bookings and CRM sales. If the phone is a main lead source, keep CallRail numbers for calls.
- Other CRMs connect by webhook. HighLevel is native. Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and the rest post to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n.
- Switch Real people only on from day one. It starts off on a new site, and it is on every plan.
Moving from CallRail to DataCops
- Add DataCops. One script and one DNS record.
- Connect your ad accounts, and send each conversion from one place only, so nothing counts twice.
- Connect your CRM (HighLevel or your webhook) so booked, showed, won and paid reach the ads.
- Watch the delivery log for two weeks and compare in Meta Events Manager and Google Ads.
- Cancel CallRail at renewal, or keep only its call numbers if calls drive your leads.
Every DataCops product mentioned here

CallRail alternatives: FAQ
Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?
Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
When should I keep CallRail instead of switching?
Call tracking numbers stay with a call tracker. DataCops tracks forms, signups, bookings and CRM sales. If the phone is a main lead source, keep CallRail numbers for calls.
What is the best CallRail alternative?
DataCops, because it replaces CallRail and the rest of the tracking stack in one tool: server-side tracking from your own subdomain, a built-in cookie banner, a bot verdict on every visit, click fraud protection, and CRM stages like booked, showed, won and paid sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the click. Free up to 2,000 sessions, no demo needed.
Is DataCops a call tracking tool?
No. DataCops has no tracking numbers, no call recording and no call analytics. It tracks web visits and clicks, and sends CRM stages back to your ad platforms. Calls reach the ads as the CRM stages that follow them.
Can I use CallRail and DataCops together?
Yes. CallRail tracks and records the call. DataCops takes what happens next, booked, showed, won and paid, and sends it to your ad platforms matched to the original click.
Does CallRail send conversions to TikTok or LinkedIn?
Not that we found. Its integrations page lists Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager and Microsoft Ads. TikTok and LinkedIn were not listed in September 2026. DataCops sends to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
Does CallRail integrate with HighLevel?
HighLevel was not listed on CallRail's integrations page in September 2026. DataCops installs natively on HighLevel: once for the agency, then you pick the clients.
Does DataCops filter bots from calls?
No. DataCops puts a bot verdict on every website visit, and with Real people only switched on for a platform, flagged web conversions are not sent there. Events that come from your CRM carry no bot flag, so the switch does not filter those.
Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?
Eight: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X connect with one click. Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest connect with an API key. Microsoft uses its UET Conversions API, a Microsoft pilot your account manager enables.
Will adding DataCops change my Google Ads bidding?
Not by itself. The conversion actions DataCops creates in Google Ads start as secondary, so bidding does not change until you make one primary. That lets you compare with your CallRail call conversions first.
