The short answer
Conversios moves your store's events to the ad platforms. DataCops decides which events deserve to go, and adds the sales that happen after the click.
DataCops is a tool that does the ad-conversion job without a container, warehouse or plugin: one script and one DNS record on your own domain, a bot verdict on every visit with a Real people only switch per ad platform, the real sale from your CRM or Shopify sent back to your ads, new campaigns warmed up with the customers you already have, and a log of every send.
How DataCops does it:
- First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
- Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
- The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.
- Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
Best for: teams who want better ad conversions without building or maintaining the pipe: lead gen, ecommerce, clinics, home services, B2B and agencies.
The alternatives at a glance:
- DataCops: best overall if you want tracking handled, on any site. One script, a bot verdict on every visit, a consent manager built in, and CRM stages sent to your ads.
- Stape: best for hosted server-side GTM if you build in GTM already.
- TAGGRS: best for a cheap EU server-side GTM host.
- Addingwell: best for managed server-side GTM for larger EU brands.
- Elevar: best for Shopify stores that want a Shopify specialist.
Conversios is cheap and quick. Install a plugin, and your pixels, Conversions API events, GA4 and product feeds are running on WooCommerce or Shopify. It says it has helped over 60,000 stores. For a store that sells on the website, that is a good deal.
People look for an alternative when they need more than a pipe: a site that is not a shop, leads that close later, bots in the numbers, or consent to handle. That is what this guide is about.
DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X.
Is a tracking plugin the answer?
Start with what these tools are. A plugin, a pipeline and a server-side host all do one job: they move your events from the site to the ad platforms. Moving is useful. But it is only one link in the chain.
Here is what moving does not do.
- It does not decide which events deserve to go. A bot that adds to cart looks like a shopper. A fake lead looks like a lead. The plugin sends both, and your ads learn from both.
- It never sees the CRM sale. The phone order, the booked call, the deal marked won: none of it passes through checkout, so none of it reaches your ads.
- It does not check consent for you. The banner is a separate purchase and a separate wiring job.
Conversios' server-side plan sets up Google Tag Manager on Google Cloud for you. That changes where the work runs. It does not do the work. You still have a web and a server container, and nothing in them checks for bots or listens to your CRM. Hosting or piping the work is not doing it.
To be fair: a plugin wins on reach and shop depth. More ad networks, product feeds for Google Shopping and TikTok, and store events out of the box. A full pipeline like RudderStack or Snowplow wins something else: warehouse destinations, control over your own schema, and room for engineers to build anything.
Piping the events is not tracking. Tracking is knowing which ones are real, and what they turned into.
The real difference: what goes through the pipe
Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.
Any site, one script
Conversios is a plugin for two store platforms. DataCops is one script and one DNS record, sent server-side from your own subdomain, so ad blockers and Safari do not strip it. It works on a shop, a clinic site, a SaaS signup or a landing page builder.
Every visit gets a verdict
Conversios' site does not mention bot filtering. Every event the plugin sees, it sends.
DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and turns it into one switch per ad platform (see click fraud protection). Turn on Real people only for Meta and flagged visits never reach Meta. It keeps about 99% of bots out when on. It is off by default, so you choose where it applies.
The sale happens after the form
Conversios tracks store orders. Its homepage mentions CRM tools with no detail, and we found no lead stages or CRM webhook.
DataCops is built around that later moment. Install it once on your HighLevel agency and pick the clients. Form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone. Any other CRM posts the sale to a private webhook. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. See offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
Consent is built in
We found no consent manager of its own on Conversios' site, and its Consent Mode v2 details are not stated. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built on IAB TCF v2.2, and website events wait for consent. Click IDs are kept 90 days and the visitor cookie up to 400 days, which in the EU still needs consent.
You can see why each event was sent
We found no per-event delivery log on Conversios' site. DataCops writes every conversion as a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it, and keeps a click log in first-party analytics.
Privacy and data deletion are built in
Visitors ask for deletion through a form on your privacy page, confirm by email, and their session is anonymised with a status page to show it. Deletion requests from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are acted on automatically; Google Ads deletions are still manual. Click IDs, sessions and the click log are deleted after 90 days, and the identity store holds hashed email and phone only. Conversios' site does not describe any of this.
Conversios tells you the event was sent. DataCops tells you whether it should have been.
The real cost of a cheap tool
The real cost is in the questions nobody asks before they buy. Answer them with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build your bot rules, consent setup and CRM sale tracking around Conversios before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question matters most. When the ads only see checkouts and form fills, bots included, they learn to find more of the same. Cost per real sale climbs, and nothing in the dashboard tells you why.
Cheap tracking is the most expensive line in your ad budget. It just does not send you the invoice.

1. DataCops: best Conversios alternative overall
DataCops is the tracking, not a slice of it. Events go server-side from your subdomain. Every visit gets a bot verdict. Consent is checked by a built-in manager. The stages after the form come from your CRM, matched to the click. Every event has a row that says what happened and why.
Why people switch to it
- Works on any site, not only stores
- Real people only keeps bots out per platform
- Booked, showed, won and paid from HighLevel or any CRM
- Consent manager and delivery log included
Worth knowing
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
- Edge blocking and refund evidence are on Organization
Best for: people who want the data right, not just the events moved.

2. Stape: best for hosted server-side GTM
Stape hosts your server container. If you already build in GTM, you get the server without owning a Google Cloud account. It works on any site, not only stores. The container is still yours to build and maintain, and bots and CRM stages are still your job.
Read our full Stape alternatives guide.
Best for: teams who know GTM and want a clear host for it.

3. TAGGRS: best for a cheap EU GTM host
TAGGRS does what Stape does, hosted in the EU at a low price. Same catch: you need someone who knows GTM, and nothing on its pricing page covers bots or CRM stages.
Best for: teams who want server-side GTM in the EU for less.

4. Addingwell: best for larger EU brands
Addingwell has the biggest free tier here and managed support.
Best for: larger brands that want GTM managed with people to call.

5. Elevar: best for Shopify stores
Elevar is built for Shopify and is the closest like-for-like swap if your store is on Shopify and you want a specialist. Like Conversios, it is a store tool, so leads and CRM stages outside the checkout are not its focus.
Best for: Shopify stores that want a Shopify-only specialist.
How to choose
Pick DataCops if
- Your site is not a store, or your sales close after the form.
- Bots are in your numbers and you want them kept out per platform.
- You run HighLevel or many clients and want one login for all of them.
Comparing other pipelines? See Jentis, RudderStack and Snowplow alternatives.
When not to use DataCops
- Conversios is strong on store feeds. Its plugins also build Google Shopping product feeds. If you rely on those, keep the feed part running; DataCops takes over the pixels, the server-side sends and the bot checks.
- You need custom tag logic or non-ad destinations. DataCops sends to ad platforms. If you feed other tools from a server container or pipeline, keep it for those.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody wants a plugin for its own sake. You want five things:
- Capture every lead and sale, including the ones ad blockers and Safari hide.
- Send them to your ad platforms, so Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X learn who buys.
- Include the sales that happen offline, on a call, on credit, in your CRM.
- Keep bots out, so the platforms do not learn from fake shoppers.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
Conversios covers the first two for a store. DataCops covers all five, on any site.
The traditional way, with Conversios
- Install the plugin or app on each store.
- Buy a separate tier for pixels, CAPI, GA4 or feeds.
- For server-side, get GTM web and server containers on Google Cloud.
- Find out who owns and pays for that cloud account.
- Buy a consent banner and wire it in.
- Handle bots yourself, or not at all.
- Build something else for leads and CRM sales.
- Repeat per domain, per store.
With DataCops
- Add one script and one DNS record.
- Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X with one click each, and Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest with an API key.
- Switch on the consent manager.
- Switch on Real people only.
- Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.
Then run your business. Click IDs are kept for 90 days, and every send gets a row in the delivery log with its reason.
Conversios sells one slice of the chain. DataCops is the whole chain, from click to sale.
Why people leave Conversios
Conversios does its store job well. People leave for reasons outside the store.
- It only works on WooCommerce and Shopify. A booking page, a SaaS app or a HighLevel funnel is out of reach.
- Leads are not orders. It tracks orders. Booked, showed and won stages have no home in it.
- Bots are not mentioned. Its site says nothing about filtering them.
- Consent is yours to add. We found no consent manager of its own.
- Server-side is still GTM. Two containers on Google Cloud, with the account details not stated.
- Tiers add up. Pixels, CAPI, GA4, feeds and server-side are separate products, priced per domain.
Offline conversions: the job a plugin cannot do
Plenty of stores and most service businesses do not close on the checkout page. Here is what DataCops adds, by industry.
| Business | What the plugin sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Stores that sell on the phone or on credit | Checkout started | The order that was actually paid |
| High-ticket stores with a sales call | Enquiry form, if a store page | Call booked, deal won with its value |
| Clinics, dental, med spa | Nothing, not a store | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Agencies running client ads | One store at a time | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| B2B and SaaS | Nothing, not a store | Qualified lead, trial, paid, by webhook |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Each sale is tied back to the ad click.
Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays
Conversios forwards what your site or store produces. A new ad account, pixel or campaign has nothing yet, so it pays to learn from scratch. That is a job a pipe cannot do, because the customers you already have never visit on command.
Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:
- Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
- See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
- Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
- Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.
Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
What else a pipe never does
- Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
- Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
- Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
- Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
- Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.
Meta health and wellness restrictions
If you advertise a clinic, a treatment, a supplement or anything health related, Meta may restrict the events it accepts from you. What usually gets an account restricted is the data itself: the page link names the treatment, the event is called Book_Implant_Consult, the form sends symptoms.
With Conversios, its site does not show a health setting. The plugin sends the store events it is built for, so keeping treatment names out of links, events and fields is on you.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only an approved list of fields and blocks everything else. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, like L_1.

"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald
What to know before you switch
- Conversios is strong on store feeds. Its plugins also build Google Shopping product feeds. If you rely on those, keep the feed part running; DataCops takes over the pixels, the server-side sends and the bot checks.
- Moving means switching events off, not the whole plugin. Turn off the Conversios pixel and CAPI events one platform at a time as DataCops starts sending them, so each conversion is counted once by its event ID or order ID.
- Setup tip: ask who owns the Google Cloud server first. If you are on Conversios server-side, find out whose account the container runs in before you cancel, so nothing keeps billing after you move.
Whatever you switch from, DataCops runs the whole chain in one tool: sends to 8 ad platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X), Real people only per platform (off by default), a built-in consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2 and a server re-check before every send, CRM sales sent back to the ads, a delivery log with a reason for every row, and each conversion counted once by event ID or order ID. On the Organization plan you also get Cloudflare edge blocking and Google refund evidence.
Moving from Conversios without losing tracking
- Add DataCops next to Conversios. One script and one DNS record. Leave the plugin running.
- Send each conversion from one place only. Switch the matching Conversios pixel or CAPI events off so nothing counts twice. Keep its feeds if you use them.
- Compare for two weeks in Meta Events Manager and Google Ads, including what DataCops skipped as bots.
- Connect your CRM to add the stages the plugin never saw.
- Remove the overlapping tiers when the numbers look right.
Every DataCops product mentioned here
- Offline conversions, HighLevel conversion tracking and DataCops for agencies.
- Server-side tracking and the no-GTM alternative.
- Meta Conversions API, Google Ads conversion tracking, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn Conversions API.
- Click fraud protection, SignupCops and first-party analytics.
- Consent manager, Ads Warmup and health mode.
Conversios alternatives: FAQ
Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?
Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.
When should I keep Conversios instead of switching?
Conversios is strong on store feeds. Its plugins also build Google Shopping product feeds. If you rely on those, keep the feed part running; DataCops takes over the pixels, the server-side sends and the bot checks.
What is the best Conversios alternative?
DataCops, for most ad-funded businesses. It replaces Conversios and the rest of the stack: one script, a bot verdict on every visit, a built-in consent manager, server-side sends to 8 ad platforms, and your CRM sales matched to the ad click. Other picks depend on the job. If you run a WooCommerce or Shopify store and want cheap pixels, product feeds and many ad networks, Conversios is hard to beat on price. If you want the tracking itself handled, DataCops is the alternative: one script on any site, a bot verdict on every visit, a consent manager built in, and CRM stages like booked, showed and won sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. For hosted server-side GTM, look at Stape, TAGGRS or Addingwell.
Does Conversios work outside WooCommerce and Shopify?
No. Its products are WooCommerce plugins and Shopify apps. DataCops works on any site with one script and one DNS record: a shop, a clinic booking page, a SaaS signup or a HighLevel funnel.
Does Conversios filter bots?
Its site does not say. We found no bot filtering on its server-side page. DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies, and with Real people only switched on for a platform, flagged visits never reach it. The switch is off by default.
Does Conversios have a consent manager?
We found no consent manager of its own on its site, and it does not state its Consent Mode v2 details. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built on IAB TCF v2.2, and website events wait for consent before they are sent.
Who pays for the Google Cloud server in Conversios server-side?
Its server-side page does not state who owns the Google Cloud account or whether hosting costs extra. Ask before you buy. DataCops has no server for you to own or pay for separately.
Can Conversios send leads or CRM sales to my ads?
It tracks store orders. Its homepage mentions CRM tools but gives no detail, and we found no lead stages or CRM webhook. DataCops installs once on HighLevel and sends form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with value and paid invoices. Any other CRM posts sales to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n.
Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?
Eight: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X connect with one click. Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest connect with an API key. Microsoft Ads uses its UET Conversions API, which Microsoft runs as a pilot, so ask your Microsoft account manager to turn it on.
