The 5 best Axeptio alternatives in 2026

Axeptio makes one of the nicest cookie banners around. It asks the question well. It does not track, and it does not send anything to your ads. We compared five Axeptio alternatives on consent, bots, conversions, privacy and price.

The short answer

Axeptio asks the visitor for consent. DataCops asks, then acts on the answer inside your tracking, and sends only real people to your ads.

DataCops is a tool whose first-party consent manager, built on IAB TCF v2.2, is served from your own domain so blockers are less likely to stop it, and which sits in one script with first-party analytics, a bot verdict on every visit, server-side conversions that skip web events marked as declined, and a log of every send.

How DataCops does it:

  • Consent, memory and proof. A TCF 2.2 consent banner from your domain with Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, a server-set cookie up to 400 days where enabled, and a delivery log row for every send, counted once against the pixel.
  • First-party collection, no extra tool. One script and one DNS record put collection on your own subdomain; with your DNS on Cloudflare, the free Worker reads the click at the edge before the page loads. Click IDs are kept on the server for up to 90 days.
  • Real people only. Every visit gets a bot verdict against 360+ billion IPs and 350+ monitoring points, with a Real people only switch per ad platform, off by default. Every form email is checked for disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score.
  • The sale after the form. HighLevel natively (lead, booked, showed, won with value, paid), any CRM by webhook, Shopify through the DataCops Shopify app, all matched to the click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and sent to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Ads Warmup. Upload your existing customers (up to 20,000 rows), see a 0 to 10 match score per person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok so new campaigns start warm.

Best for: advertisers with EU, UK or Swiss traffic who want a consent banner that loads reliably, and consent, analytics and ad conversions in one script.

The alternatives at a glance:

  • DataCops: best overall if you run ads. A first-party consent manager on IAB TCF v2.2, built into the tracking, with bots kept out and CRM sales sent to your ads.
  • Cookiebot: best for a cheap, well-known banner on a small site.
  • Usercentrics: best for growing sites that want many languages and cross-domain consent.
  • iubenda: best for a banner plus privacy and cookie policies in one tool.
  • Didomi: best for enterprises and publishers with many domains, apps and regions.

Most people who look for an Axeptio alternative start with the pageview limit or the one-domain rule. Those are real. But the bigger question sits after the banner: what happens once the visitor clicks Accept?

Every Axeptio alternatives list compares banners: design, languages, consent rates. None of them ask where the consent goes next, or who clicked the banner in the first place. That is what this guide is about.

Axeptio is great at the banner. The cookie jar, the video journey, the A/B tests. It will likely lift your consent rate. But a banner vendor sells you a banner. That is one slice of the chain. The rest is still yours to build.

  • You still wire it into every tag. The banner tells Google and other vendors what the visitor chose. Every pixel, every tag, every server-side setup has to listen and obey. If one does not, you are not compliant, and the banner cannot see it.
  • Your consent numbers include bots. A banner treats every visitor the same. Bots load it, some click it, and they end up in your consent rate, your A/B tests and your tracking after it.
  • Consent and conversions live in two systems. The banner knows who agreed. Your tracking knows who bought. Nobody checks the two against each other before an event is sent.

DataCops puts the consent manager inside the tracking. The same script that asks for consent is the one that sends conversions. Marketing events wait for the answer. Nothing goes to your ad platforms until the visitor says yes. Consent and conversions are one system, so there is nothing to wire.

A higher consent rate is only worth something if the yes reaches your ads, and came from a person.

The real difference: what happens after Accept

Here is what that means in practice, one job at a time.

Consent sits inside the tracking

Axeptio passes the choice to Google through Consent Mode and to other vendors through TCF. Each tag has to respect it, and the tracking itself is someone else's job.

DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Its consent manager is built in, first-party, and follows IAB TCF v2.2. Marketing events wait for the visitor's answer before anything is sent to your ad platforms. There is no second system to connect.

  • Served from your own domain, so blockers are less likely to strip it.
  • Events wait for consent. Nothing goes to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest or X before the answer.

Bots are kept out of the count

A banner treats all traffic the same. Bots load it, and some click it. Your consent rate, your A/B test results and your tracking all include them.

DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies (see click fraud protection). Turn on Real people only for a platform, and flagged visits never reach it. It is off by default, so you choose where it applies. When it is on, about 99% of bots stay out.

Conversions reach your ads

Axeptio does not send conversions. That job belongs to a pixel, a tag manager or a server-side tool you buy separately.

DataCops sends conversions server-side from your own subdomain to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Click IDs are kept 90 days. And it goes past the website: install once on HighLevel and form leads, booked calls, show-ups, won deals with their value and paid invoices go to the ads, matched to the click. Any other CRM posts to a private webhook. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent.

Banner design and consent rates: Axeptio goes further

Credit where it is due. Axeptio lets you build banners without code, run a video-led consent journey and A/B test your banner to lift consent rates. It adds a contextual consent wall, a cookie scanner and 20+ plugins for Shopify, WordPress, Webflow and more. It also has a mobile SDK with Apple ATT and a Terms and Conditions consent product. DataCops has a working TCF banner, not a design studio. If the banner itself is your product, Axeptio wins this one.

Privacy and data deletion are built in

Axeptio stores consent proofs. We found no self-serve deletion form and no deletion callbacks to ad platforms on its site. Deletion requests, and the data already sent to ad platforms, are yours to handle.

DataCops handles that side in one place. Visitors ask for deletion through a form on your privacy page: they confirm by email, their session data is anonymised, and a status page shows what was done. Deletion requests sent by Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are acted on automatically. Click IDs, sessions and the click log are deleted after 90 days, and the identity store holds hashed emails and phones only, never plain text. Google Ads deletions are still a manual step on your side.

Visits, not pageviews

Axeptio counts pageviews. DataCops counts sessions: one visit, like in Google Analytics, however many pages it has. A new session starts after 30 minutes of no activity.

Axeptio tells you the visitor said yes. DataCops tells you it was a person, and what they bought.

The real cost of a cheap tool

The real cost is everything the banner leaves to you. Answer these with your own numbers.

Fill in your own numbers. Only you know what an hour and a lead are worth to your business.

The last question matters most. When the ads only see form fills, they learn to find more people who fill in forms, not people who buy. A nicer banner does nothing about that.

A great banner on top of leaky tracking is still leaky tracking.

Prices use different units. A DataCops session is one visit, like in Google Analytics: every page in it counts once, and a new session starts after 30 minutes of no activity. Axeptio counts every pageview. Axeptio column checked on axept.io, 2 October 2026. "Not built in" means we found no Axeptio feature for it on its home and pricing pages.

1. DataCops: best Axeptio alternative for teams running ads

Consent plus tracking · IAB TCF v2.2

DataCops is not a better banner. It is the tracking, with the banner built in. Consent is asked from your own domain and checked before any event is sent. Every visit gets a bot verdict. Conversions and CRM sales go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Deletion requests have their own form.

Why people switch to it

  • Consent and conversions in one system
  • IAB TCF v2.2 on every plan
  • Real people only keeps bots out of each platform
  • Booked, showed, won and paid from HighLevel or any CRM

Worth knowing

  • Banner A/B tests and mobile SDK stay with Axeptio
  • Real people only is switched on per platform
  • Free plan covers 2,000 sessions a month

Best for: teams whose consent protects their tracking, not just their legal page.

2. Cookiebot: best for a cheap, well-known banner

Cookie banner · per domain

Cookiebot prices by how many pages your site has, not how much traffic it gets. A small site with lots of visitors pays little, and there is a free plan for up to 50 subpages. That is a clear win over Axeptio's pageview limits for busy small sites.

It is still only a banner. Tracking, bots and conversions stay somewhere else, and big content sites climb the ladder fast.

Why people switch to it

  • No traffic limit
  • Free plan

Worth knowing

  • Page count pricing hurts big sites
  • No banner A/B testing like Axeptio's

Best for: a cheap banner on a small, busy site.

3. Usercentrics: best for growing sites

Web CMP

Usercentrics counts sessions, like DataCops, which makes it the fairest price comparison.

Why people switch to it

  • Counts visits, not pageviews
  • Many languages, cross-domain consent

Worth knowing

  • Server-side sold and built separately
  • No bot filtering or CRM stages

Best for: a scalable banner when you build the tracking yourself.

4. iubenda: best for a banner plus policies

Banner and policies · by pageviews

iubenda bundles the banner with privacy and cookie policy documents. For a small business that wants the legal side in one place, that is handy, and the entry price is low.

Like Axeptio, it counts pageviews and stops at compliance. No conversions, no bot filtering.

Why people switch to it

  • Policies and banner together
  • Low entry price

Worth knowing

  • Pageview limits, like Axeptio
  • Still no tracking

Best for: the banner and your legal documents in one tool.

5. Didomi: best for enterprises and publishers

Enterprise CMP · no public price, contact sales

Didomi is built for big teams with many domains, apps and regions. It supports IAB TCF v2.2, GPP, Google Consent Mode v2, Microsoft UET Consent Mode and a preference center. If Axeptio feels too small, this is the step up.

There is no public price, and it is still a consent platform. Tracking and conversions stay with other tools.

Why people switch to it

  • Enterprise governance and scale
  • Preference center, GPP

Worth knowing

  • Sales call to get a price
  • No tracking or conversions

Best for: large publishers and brands with a legal team to run it.

How to choose an Axeptio alternative

  1. Ask what you are replacing. Only the price or the domain limit? Cookiebot, Usercentrics or iubenda. The whole chain from consent to sale? Keep reading.
  2. Check if you run ads. If you spend on Meta, Google, TikTok or LinkedIn, consent should sit inside the tracking, not beside it.
  3. Look at your traffic. If bots fill your forms, a banner cannot help. You want a verdict per visit.
  4. Count your needs outside the website. Mobile apps, many regions or a big legal team point to Axeptio or Didomi.
  5. Price the whole stack. Add the tracking tool you buy next to the banner before you compare.

Pick DataCops if

  • You run Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest or X and want consent enforced inside the tracking.
  • Bots are in your forms, your consent numbers or your ads.
  • Your sales close after the form, in HighLevel or another CRM.

Comparing other consent tools? See our guides to Didomi, Complianz, CookieFirst, Ketch, CookieHub, Enzuzo, Secure Privacy, Cookiebot, Usercentrics and iubenda alternatives.

When not to use DataCops

  • Axeptio's banner design tools and mobile SDK. Its no-code designer, A/B tests and app consent with Apple ATT are its strengths. If you have a mobile app, keep Axeptio there and move the website to DataCops.
  • You need Google Consent Mode signals handled for you. Set up Consent Mode in your own banner and Google tag. DataCops skips web events marked as declined, but it does not make you compliant.
  • You need a legal guarantee. A consent manager is a tool, not legal advice. Your lawyer decides what your setup needs.

What's your actual goal?

Nobody wakes up wanting a cookie banner. You want five things:

  1. Stay compliant, with consent asked first and events held until the answer.
  2. Capture every lead and sale from people who agreed, including the ones ad blockers and Safari hide.
  3. Send them to your ad platforms, so Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Reddit, Pinterest and X learn who buys.
  4. Keep bots out, of your consent numbers and your ads.
  5. Handle deletion requests without a spreadsheet.

Axeptio covers the first goal very well. The other four sit with other tools you buy and connect. Here is the same goal, done both ways.

The traditional way, with Axeptio

  1. Design your banner and pick a plan by pageviews.
  2. Move up to Small or higher for IAB TCF.
  3. Set up Consent Mode and blocking for every tag.
  4. Buy a separate tool to send conversions server-side.
  5. Wire the consent choice into that tool too.
  6. Find a way to keep bots out of your forms and ads.
  7. Connect your CRM so sales reach the ad platforms.
  8. Handle deletion requests by hand, platform by platform.

With DataCops

  1. Add one script and one DNS record.
  2. Switch on the consent manager.
  3. Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn with one click, and the other four with an API key.
  4. Switch on Real people only.
  5. Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.

Then run your business. Consent is checked before anything is sent, and deletion requests have a form of their own.

Axeptio sells you the question. DataCops asks it, honours it, and does the tracking, so you can focus on what makes money.

Why people leave Axeptio

Axeptio does its job well. People leave for reasons that sit around the banner, not in it.

  • Pageviews, not visits. One visitor who reads five pages counts five times. A 50,000-visit site can land on Medium or Large.
  • One domain per plan. Every self-serve plan covers one domain. More sites means more plans, or a custom Enterprise or Agency deal.
  • Extra Small has Consent Mode v2 only.
  • It stops at the banner. No conversions, no click IDs, no ad platform delivery. You buy tracking somewhere else and connect the two.
  • Bots count as visitors. We found no bot filtering on its site, so bots sit in your consent rates and A/B tests.

Offline conversions: the job a banner cannot do

Most businesses do not sell on the website. The website collects the lead. The money comes later, and that later moment is what your ads need to learn from. Here is what DataCops sends, by industry.

  2. The lead books, shows up or buys in your CRM, days or weeks later.
  3. DataCops finds the original click by click ID or hashed email and phone.
  4. The stage goes to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X, counted once.

Axeptio records the consent. It does not send CRM sales to your ads. See offline conversions for the full picture.

Ads Warmup: tell the ads who pays

Axeptio records the consent choice. It does not tell the ad platforms who your customers are, so new campaigns learn from scratch. Ads Warmup sends customers you already have, from a list you choose to upload, after you have checked your own consent basis for that list.

Ads Warmup, DataCops' flagship feature, sends them to your ad platforms before a campaign spends:

  1. Upload a customer list. A CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls. DataCops reads your columns; only email is required.
  2. See a match score for every person. An estimate from 0 to 10 from email, phone, name, location, click ID and customer ID, before anything is sent.
  3. Pick the event. Purchase, Lead, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule.
  4. Send server-side. Up to 20,000 people per upload to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, with a sent, skipped or failed result per person. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad.

Each row is dated when you press send, not with the old sale date, so it gives a new campaign real customers to learn from on day one. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.

What else a consent platform never does

  • Capture at the edge. With DNS on Cloudflare, the free, optional DataCops Cloudflare Worker reads click IDs and UTMs off the first request, before the page or any script runs. It captures; it does not block.
  • Keep the click on the server. gclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, ttclid and li_fat_id are stored for up to 90 days, so a deal that closes weeks later still finds its click. A signed server-set cookie lasts up to 400 days where enabled.
  • Check the lead's email. Fixed rules, not guesses: disposable providers, domains with no mail server and an email risk score. With LeadCops (Business and up), a lead that fails is held and never billed.
  • Install on Shopify. The DataCops Shopify app adds a web pixel and a theme app embed, so every paid order reaches your ads, express checkouts included. See Shopify Conversions API.
  • Hand evidence to Google. On the Organization plan, the fraud refund report exports bot-flagged Google Ads clicks in the format Google's Click Quality form asks for. You attach it; Google decides.

Meta health and wellness restrictions

Clinics, med spas and supplement brands know this one. Meta may restrict the events it accepts from a health advertiser. The trouble is usually the data: the page link names the treatment, the event is called Book_Implant_Consult.

With Axeptio, consent is handled, but this is not a banner problem. Whatever tracking tool you buy has to be cleaned up tag by tag.

With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only an approved field list, cuts page links to the domain and gives events neutral names, so Lead becomes L_1.

Setup, step by step, side by side

Here is the same job done both ways. The Axeptio column assumes you also run a separate tracking tool, because Axeptio does not track.

The job

The Axeptio steps are normal compliance work. The point is how many tools and hands they need.

Andrew Forsyth
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."
Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald

When the banner never loads

Axeptio loads its banner from its own servers, a third-party domain. Ad blockers and privacy browsers keep lists of consent tools like this and often stop the script. When that happens the visitor never sees the banner and never gives consent.

That leaves two bad outcomes in Europe. Either your ad tags wait for a consent that never comes, and every one of those visitors is lost from your data. Or a tag fires anyway without consent, which is the legal risk the banner was bought to remove.

The DataCops banner is served from your own subdomain, as part of your site, so blockers are far less likely to stop it. The same choice then decides what your ad platforms receive: the server checks it again before every send. Read why third-party consent banners get blocked.

A consent banner that never loads cannot collect consent.

What to know before you switch

  • Axeptio's banner design tools and mobile SDK. Its no-code designer, A/B tests and app consent with Apple ATT are its strengths. If you have a mobile app, keep Axeptio there and move the website to DataCops.
  • One banner at a time. Switch on the DataCops consent manager and remove the old banner in the same release, so visitors see one question.
  • Real people only is your choice. It is off by default. Switch it on per ad platform to keep bots and datacenter traffic out of what your ads learn from.

Moving from Axeptio without a gap

  1. Add DataCops. One script and one DNS record. Set up the consent manager but keep Axeptio's banner live for now.
  2. Swap the banner on one day: switch on the DataCops consent manager and remove the Axeptio script or plugin, so visitors never see two banners.
  3. Keep your old consent proofs. Export or keep access to what Axeptio stored before you cancel.
  4. Connect your ad accounts and CRM, and switch off the old pixels or tags DataCops now covers, so nothing counts twice.
  5. Downgrade or cancel Axeptio at the end of the cycle, or keep it only for your mobile app.

Axeptio alternatives: FAQ

Can I warm up a new campaign with my existing customers?

Yes, with DataCops Ads Warmup. Upload a CSV of past buyers, old leads or booked calls (only email is required, up to 20,000 rows), see a match score from 0 to 10 for every person, and send them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as fresh signal, dated when you send. Google Ads credits only people who clicked a Google ad. Preview is free; sending needs a paid plan.

When should I keep Axeptio instead of switching?

Axeptio's banner design tools and mobile SDK. Its no-code designer, A/B tests and app consent with Apple ATT are its strengths. If you have a mobile app, keep Axeptio there and move the website to DataCops.

What is the best Axeptio alternative?

DataCops, if you run ads. It replaces Axeptio and the tracking stack behind it: a first-party cookie banner built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard, Google Consent Mode v2 on by default, server-side conversions to 8 ad platforms, bot filtering and CRM sales in one system. If you want another banner at a low price, Cookiebot or iubenda. If you have many sites and regions, Didomi or Usercentrics.

Does every Axeptio plan include IAB TCF?

No. Extra Small has Google Consent Mode v2 but not TCF. DataCops includes its IAB TCF v2.2 consent manager on every plan.

Does Axeptio send conversions to Meta or Google Ads?

No. Axeptio collects consent and passes it to tools like Google through Consent Mode. It does not track visits or send conversions to ad platforms. You need a separate tracking tool for that.

Does Axeptio filter bots?

We found no bot filtering on its site. Bots load the banner like anyone else, so they end up in your consent rates and in your A/B tests. DataCops gives every visit a bot verdict and, with Real people only on for a platform, keeps flagged visits out of it.

Does DataCops have a mobile app consent SDK?

No. DataCops is for websites. Axeptio has a mobile SDK with Apple ATT support. If you need consent in a native app, keep a tool like Axeptio for the app.

What happens when I go over my DataCops plan?

Size your plan for your busiest month.

Which ad platforms does DataCops send to?

DataCops sends to 8 ad platforms: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Pinterest and X. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and X connect with one click. Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest connect with an API key. Microsoft uses its UET Conversions API, which is a Microsoft pilot: ask your Microsoft account manager to turn it on.
