GA4 alternative
Analytics you can actually trust. It shows your total traffic, splits out the bots, and gives you clean counts, real user journeys, and the channels that drive real people, all in one place.
The problem
Your analytics is wrong in two directions at the same time. It misses real visitors, because ad blockers and Safari strip third-party tracking. And part of what it does show is bots and fraud pretending to be people. So the number on your dashboard is too low, because real visitors were dropped, and too high, because fake ones were added. You are making decisions on a figure that is wrong twice. Why analytics today is broken
Tools like GA4 were built in a world that no longer exists. Four things break them now.
- They load third-party, so they get blocked. The tracking runs from someone else's domain, which ad blockers, Safari, and Brave strip. Part of your real audience is simply never seen.
- They count bots as people. They have no good way to tell a real visitor from a script or a click farm, so fake traffic inflates your numbers, from sessions to conversions.
- They forget returning visitors. Safari can wipe script-set browser storage after about seven days, so a customer who comes back looks brand new, and the journey that led to a sale is lost.
- Every tool measures a different slice. Your analytics, your ad platforms, and your CRM each see a different, partial view, so their numbers never agree and no one can say which is right.
What it costs you
- You scale down campaigns that are actually winning, because the conversions never showed up.
- You keep spending on channels that only look good because bots inflated them.
- You cannot settle a simple argument about performance, because every tool tells a different story.
Every decision downstream of a wrong number is a wrong decision.
How DataCops solves it
DataCops analytics is built on the same first-party capture and fraud filtering that run the rest of the platform. It shows your total traffic, separates out the bots, and lets you look at your real audience two honest ways: as clean anonymous counts, and, for visitors who consent, as named journeys. One system, one number you can trust.Your true total traffic
Because the tracking loads first-party from your own domain, it is much harder for blockers and Safari to strip. So you see visits and conversions your old analytics often missed.
The fraud you were counting
Next, DataCops shows you how much of that traffic was never a person. Bots, click farms, and masked traffic are flagged and filtered out of your clean numbers. You see real visitors and filtered traffic side by side, so you know how much of your old dashboard was noise. Each visit is scored using DataCops' own IP intelligence and on-page behaviour.
Clean counts, no identity needed
Not every number requires knowing who someone is. DataCops counts visits, pages, and conversions in aggregate, with no individual identified. That gives you honest top-line numbers to run the business on, even for visitors who declined to be identified.
The real user journey
For visitors who consent to be identified, DataCops shows the whole journey, not a pile of separate hits: the ad they first clicked, the pages they read, the times they came back, and the conversion that finally happened. Open any person in User activity to see their sessions in order, each with its pages, source and country. A durable first-party identity of up to 400 days is a per-site switch, so returning visitors are recognised long after Safari would have wiped a script-set cookie.
Where your real visitors are
DataCops places your visitors on the map using its own IP service, not a third-party lookup, so your visitors' addresses are not handed to another company. Bots and masked traffic are filtered, so a spike from one country is more likely real interest, not a click farm.
Which channels actually work
Because the ad click is captured and kept attached to each visitor, DataCops can tell you which marketing channels bring real people, not just clicks. The Traffic sources report counts human visitors only, and sorts every referrer into a channel:
| Channel | What lands there |
|---|---|
| AI assistants | Visits from AI chat assistants |
| Search | Search engines |
| Social | Social networks |
| Dev communities | Developer sites and forums |
| Email services | |
| Shopping, Video | Marketplaces and video sites |
| Auth and payment | Sign-in and payment pages a visitor passed through |
| Own marketing | Your own domain |
| Direct | No referrer |
The sorting uses a fixed list of known sites kept by DataCops, not a guess, so the same visit always lands in the same channel. A paid channel that looked strong but was mostly bots stops flattering itself, and a channel quietly driving real buyers gets the credit it earned. Use the built-in UTM builder to tag your own campaign links the same way every time.
Funnels and page insights
The User journey report shows how real visitors move through your site. Build a funnel from your own steps and see where people drop off. A flow chart shows the paths people actually take between pages. Below it, a page table gives each page's numbers on its own.
One date filter drives the whole report, from the last 24 hours up to the last year, so every number on the page covers the same window and adds up. There is no sampling: every count comes from the full set of clean visits.
Where to find each report
| Question | Report |
|---|---|
| How many real visitors, sessions and page views? | Overview |
| How much was bots or fraud? | Overview and the fraud report |
| Which countries, cities, devices and browsers? | Overview |
| Which channels bring real people? | Traffic sources |
| Where do people drop off? | User journey |
| What did one person do before they converted? | User activity |
| How many visitors accepted or rejected cookies? | Consent report |
| Did each conversion reach the ad platforms? | Delivery report |
Take your data anywhere
Your data is yours. With a private API key you can pull sessions, identified visitors, bot detections and conversions into a warehouse, a spreadsheet or your own tools. Pages hold up to 500 rows and you page through with a date cursor.
curl "https://api.joindatacops.com/api/v1/export/sessions?limit=100" \
-H "x-dc-key: dcp_your_private_key" Each session row includes the start and end time, page count, country, city, browser and platform, the bot verdict and its reasons, VPN, proxy and Tor flags, the referrer and the landing page. See the export reference, or use Zapier for no-code flows.
GA4 and DataCops side by side
| GA4 | DataCops | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the script loads | Google's domain | A subdomain of your own domain |
| Bots | Filters known bots only | Scored per visit with IP intelligence and behaviour, shown separately |
| Returning visitors | Browser cookie | Up to 400 days with the server cookie |
| Consent | Needs a separate banner | Built-in banner, built to the IAB TCF v2.2 standard |
| Ad platforms | Google products | Server-side to 8 ad platforms from the same data |
Good to know before you start
- Install the DataCops script once and point one subdomain of your domain at it. Reports fill from that moment on.
- Keep GA4 running next to DataCops while you compare. The numbers will differ, because DataCops counts visits GA4 missed and removes bots GA4 kept.
- Named journeys need consent. Aggregate counts do not identify anyone.
- The Free plan includes 2,000 sessions, enough to see your real numbers before you upgrade.
Reporting you can act on
All of this is one connected system, not a stack of separate tools. The first-party capture, the fraud filtering, the durable identity, and the consent manager all feed the same clean numbers. And the same clean data that fills your reports is what DataCops sends to your ad platforms, so your analytics and your ads finally agree.
